It is a very sad day today... I have lost a very dear friend.
Ronnie was a true Leader of Heavy Metal... an Icon and a Visionary... there will never be another like him.
Ronnie gave me wisdom, and showed me great compassion when he was in ELF, all those years ago, when we were on tour together in my time in Deep Purple. He was a beautiful Soul, kind, considerate and a wonderful teacher.
Someday I'll be bringing your Microphone up there with me, and we'll sing a song, and share a Vindaloo together...

A new super group has been formed with Jason Bonham, Glenn Hughes, Joe Bonamassa and Derek Sherinian. They are calling themselves Black Country, taking their name from the industrial area in England from which Bonham and Hughes both hail. The band is currently in the studio with producer Kevin Shirley (Black Crowes, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin) cutting tracks for an upcoming album to be released in late 2010 or early 2011.

There is a lot of speculation and talk about the new project that Glenn is involved with, and at this stage, all we can say, is that an official statement/announcement is forthcoming and will be made very soon. However, this will not be made until the time is right.
As soon as there is any news relating to the project, 'glennhughes.com' will have all the details and updates for you.
Glenn has been busy over the Holiday Season, in a Malibu, CA. studio with music producer, Kevin Shirley, working on a remix of the classic Deep Purple MK. IV album, "Come Taste The Band".
Still a work in progress, songs that have received the treatment so far include, 'You Keep On Moving', 'Gettin' Tighter', 'Dealer' and 'I Need Love'.

Glenn's long awaited Autobiography is scheduled for publication in 2010. Co-written with world renowned music author, Joel McIver and with a Forward from Lars Ulrich (Metallica), it will be published by UK based, Foruli Publications.

Some ultra-rare colour vision of the Deep Purple MKIV line-up playing in Houston, Texas, USA in February 1976 has recently been discovered, in addition to, some classic Trapeze footage from the 'reunion' tour in 1976. Both are only a few minutes in length, but a find nonetheless! More soon.

Glenn has been forced to pull-out of this evening's event where he was scheduled to appear with Demon's Eye at Dreisbachhalle in Netphen-Dreis-Tiefenbach (near Siegen), Germany.
He is taking things one day at a time and hopes his voice recovers ASAP. It is unfortunate, but obviously, not a lot can be done, until he feels better.

Glenn and his band continued their successful visit to Bulgaria with another sold out performance in front of 12,000 lucky fans at the Central Square Velbajd in Kyustendil, Bulgaria last night, by special invitation from the Mayor.

Glenn went to visit his friend Matt Sorum at his shop, Sorum Noce on Melrose in West Hollywood, California today. You know Matt most recently as a member of Velvet Revolver and formerly of Guns N' Roses to name but two, but he was also featured on two of Glenn's solo album's; 1995's "Feel" and 1999's "The Way It Is", in addition to the video for "Days Of Avalon", from 2000's "Return Of Crystal Karma".
Glenn will be a special guest at the ChildLine Rocks charity concert at the IndigO2 venue, London, UK on Monday, June 1st, 2009.

Glenn received the "International Artist of the Year" award last night at the Zebrik Report Music Awards in Plzen, Czech Republic.

The "You Are Not Alone" campaign won over millions of people across the world for the cause of the Bulgarian medics who were sentenced to death in Libya. The international humanitarian mission raised public awareness throughout Europe and the United States and made people compassionate with the fate of the Bulgarians.
The tricolor ribbons, emblems of the company, became known around the globe. For the first
time the campaign launched by The Standart, Darik Radio and bTV private national channel
united all the Bulgarians who rose to defend the national cause. The support rally for the
nurses brought together over 30,000 in front of the St. Alexander Nevski cathedral in
Sofia. Pop and folk singers, eminent artists and public figures of Bulgaria have
contributed to the campaign. The best musicians composed the anthem of the campaign - "You Are Not Alone." A petition demanding freedom for the nurses signed by a million of Bulgarians was handed to the authorities in Brussels. Rock legends like George Michael, Glenn Hughes and Bianca Jagger also paid their tribute to the cause.
Over 8 million Europeans pinned on the emblem of the mission in solidarity with the
Bulgarians, among them British PM Tony Blair and president of France Nicolas Sarkozy who
personally visited Gaddafi to plea for mercy for the Bulgarians.
Protesting rallies that condemned the unjust decision of the Libyan court swept the entire
Europe. People rose to defend the nurses and the results came soon.
This week saw the long awaited release of Deep Purple's 1974 epic, Stormbringer, freshly remastered with bonus tracks including remixes completed by Glenn during his visit to Abbey Road Studios back in 2006!
Since being released it has entered straight in at No. 2 on the UK's BBC rock chart.

Glenn is very happy to confirm that he has been invited back to KAVARNA, Bulgaria by his good friend Tsonko Tsonev, the Mayor of Kavarna, to perform a special free concert on Wednesday, May 6th, 2009. This is also the Bulgarian National holiday of St. George's Day.
The concert will take place in the evening at Dobrotitsa Square (Main Central Square).
This promises to be a very special show as part one of the set will be a unique and first time performance by Glenn of the entire BURN album in original album running order!!
Glenn has also been asked to officially open the national Bulgarian Marathon race which will take place in Kavarna on Saturday, May 9th. In previous years, the race was held in Sofia, and this will be the first year that the race will be held in Kavarna. The race will feature athletes from across the world taking part. Rock singer and guitarist Glenn Hughes played a concert yesterday in the Masters of Rock Cafe in Zlin. He introduced his new album "First Underground Nuclear Kitchen" to the audience with which has gone on a full European tour. Hughes first appeared in the beginning of the 70's. In 1973 he joined Deep Purple and made three studio albums with them. After the break up of the band, he played with a series of stars of hard rock including Black Sabbath. At the beginning of the 90's he went solo. The last album was issued on May 9th and also featured drums by Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Mel Galley has posted the following statement "As some of you may already have read in the press or seen / heard on other websites, the verdict from the doctors following a full MRI scan is that my condition is terminal. Rather than sit around feeling sorry for myself, I intend to make the most of the time I have left with my family and friends. I am blessed with a fantastic wife and two sons who I am very proud of. On January 18th Glenn appeared at the NAMM show in Anaheim, CA. In the Sheraton he later played a short solo set accompanied by Chad Smith (drums), Jeff Kollman (guitar) and Ed Roth (keys). Pictures can be found here.

Glenn is to perform 'An Evening with Glenn Hughes' on 7th November at the Kampereio Theatre in Ioannina, Greece. This date is prior to the full band dates in Greece later that same week. The evening will consist of a solo acoustic set, Q+A's with the fans and a meet and greet.
In the last week of September, Glenn Hughes will be in Bulgaria again. This time he's there for a show in Sofia with Bulgarian rockers BTR on the 27th. Before this, Glenn will make two TV appearances. On Sep. 25th, Glenn will be the special guest on the TV show "Komicite", which will be aired on September 28th at 9:00PM (2100) on the Bulgarian television, BTV. On Sep. 27th, GLENN will be the special guest on another TV show - "Slavishow" and will perform Mistreated with the band from the show, the "Cuckoo Band". This show starts at 10:30PM (2230) on Bulgarian TV, "BTV", on September 27th.

Glenn has been confirmed as one of the main acts to appear at this years Hell Music Festival in Norway. The unusually named Hell is a small place not far from Trondheim Airport, Vaernes. Glenn's performance will take place on the night of Saturday June 30th on the main Hell City Extravaganza stage. [tickets]
Glenn's performance at the Classics in Rock was nothing but sensational. In Rotterdam (Holland) almost 10.000 people whitnessed Glenn Hughes in a very fine form. Hughes' stunning performance took the jaw dropping crowd from breathless gazing during Whiter Shade of Pale and Mistreated to massive applauses at the end of Burn. Backed up by a philharmonic orchestra this was a truly memorable performance. There also were performances by Graham Bonnet, John Waite, Chris Thompson, Jon Anderson and many more. Glenn wil join Ken Hensley for a special evening's event in Germany on May 22nd, after his spring shows conclude in Italy with Moonstone Project. The new Ken Hensley album "Blood On The Highway" will be released on Friday, March 25th. On Tuesday, May 22nd there will be a live showcase performance of the entire CD, including the original singers - Glenn Hughes, Jorn Lande, Eve Gallagher and John Lawton, at the Fabrik in Hamburg, Germany. The entire performance will be filmed for a later release on DVD.
Back to where it all began... Glenn Hughes, with Chad Smith on drums, will play an exclusive headline show at LA's legendary Whisky A Go Go, on Saturday June 2nd, 2007. The Whiskey was the venue where Trapeze first made a serious impact in the early 70's in America, so it is apt and very fitting that Glenn will be going back to perform there. The concert will present the American fans with a fantastic opportunity to see one of the world's greatest drummers performing with The Voice Of Rock!
March 23rd, 2007 will see the Australia/New Zealand release for the acclaimed "Music for the Divine" cd through Sony BMG. Just got a sign of life from the guys who despite the col appearently have a great time in Russia. The audience reactions and the size of the crowds are among the best Glenn's ever got as a solo artist. There have been several sold out shows, standing ovations. Glenn and the guys have found complete pandemonium at some of the shows they gave. Sounds all promising for the rest of the year to come!
On Feb 15 Glenn gave a clinic for a class of music students at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California. Here is what MIT graduate and teacher Christopher Maloney had to say about it: "Glenn Hughes was one of the most entertaining and enlightening performers we've ever had at the Musicians Institute. His stories of his own personal and professional challenges and achievements were inspiring even to the most apathetic student. His vocal and musical talents are well obvious, but it was his charm, frankness and sincerity that really came across to his audience, who rewarded him with a huge standing ovation (a rarity for "school events"). Most impressed were the faculty members who were in attendance, many of whom cancelled their classes and required their students to attend the Glenn Hughes event. The faculty knew the importance of their students hearing someone of Glenn's status, experience and talent. In fact, the instructors were just as blown away by Glenn as the students were. During the Rockline radio broadcast last week, Glenn announced tentative plans for a USA tour to take place this summer. The first date currently planned is set for Los Angeles at The Roxy on Saturday, June 2nd. The unnamed venue that Glenn will be playing in Dimitrovgrad, Serbia in May has been officially named the 'Glenn Hughes Music Hall' by the Mayor! An overwhelmed and humbled Glenn: "I am full of gratitude to have a public building named in my honour. I want thank the Major and the good people of Serbia. May the Glenn Hughes Music Hall be filled with great memories in the years to come...."
Glenn Hughes, whose vocal talents have earned the singer the title of “the voice of rock,” has entered the newest phase of his storied career with “Music for the Divine", the vocalist/musician’s latest collaboration with drummer Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers). Set for release January 30th in America on Demolition Records, “Music for the Divine” is a testament to Hughes’ versatility and ability to grow. “I had bought a 1955 Martin acoustic and I hadn’t written on acoustic in a long time,” said Hughes. “This is How I Feel,” “This House,” “Frail,” “The Divine,” and “Valiant Denial” were all the product of Hughes’ acoustic experimentation, but Hughes was also writing with the idea that he wanted to create an album that could be scored with strings. “He’s not stuck in the past,” Smith said. “It’s modern, new music. This album represents the full spectrum of Glenn’s music and it’s a great statement about where he’s at now. It’s very honest.”
With the love of funk seeded deeply in his soul, Hughes underlined each song with its own funky style. Smith, Hughes’ partner in crime in recent years, acted as a sounding board for Hughes’ demos before the musicians came together with longtime guitarist JJ Marsh to flesh out the tracks. The trio, along with help from Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante and Mark Kilian on keys and string arrangements, recorded “Music for the Divine” live at Smith’s Hollywood Hills home.
“I don’t think I can ever go back to recording any other way,” Hughes said. “Chad is an amazing arranger and he is the most musical drummer that I have ever worked with, and remember that I have worked with some of the greatest drummers.”
The Hughes/Smith musical relationship dates back to the NAMM show in 2002, where one of Smith sponsors, Sabian, heard about Hughes’ show and suggested that the duo would be a “match made in rhythm heaven.” Smith, who had been a big fan of Hughes’ work in Deep Purple decades before, gladly accepted the offer.
“Chad came down to my rehearsal and we clicked immediately,” said Hughes. “He sat in on half of my set at the show and has been my wife ever since!”
“We played the show and it was fantastic,” Smith said. “We hit it off immediately, musically and personally. He comes from a very similar background – soul, funk. It’s a really fun working relationship. Really, it’s just fun playing. I think Glenn us the best singer of his generation. He gets better and stronger. It’s amazing what a gift he has.” “I am extremely grateful that I have been given the gift to be a songwriter,” Hughes said. “It is like a tap has been switched on and it is continually flowing. On May 6th 2007, Glenn has been invited back by his good friend, Tsonko Tsonev, the Mayor of Kavarna, to again play in Kavarna, Bulgaria, where he played last August. This will be a very special event, as Mr Tsonev is making Glenn an honorary citizen of Kavarna. At 12 noon, Glenn will cut a ribbon in front of a building at the Central City Square which has had a specially commissioned portrait of Glenn painted onto it (other buildings in Kavarna have portraits of Ian Gillan and Ronnie James Dio on them). Glenn will then be presented with the Honourable Sign of Kavarna, making him an honorary citizen of Kavarna. After the ceremony, Glenn will then perform with his band. Glenn is very proud and honoured to receive this from Mr Tsonev, and he is delighted to be going back to the beautiful country and people of Bulgaria.
Glenn will also play a show on May 9th in Dimitrovgrad (aka Tzaribrod), Serbia, which is about 50km from Sofia. Again, this will be a unique event because Glenn has been invited there by the Mayor of Dimitrovgrad, Mr. Veselin Velichkov, to be the first major international artist to perform in the city. The concert will take place in a new hall in the city, and Glenn's show -as it will be the first concert at the new hall - will act as an inauguration for the hall.
Mr Tsonev is doing his best to create awareness for the plight of the Bulgarian nurses still held captive In Libya since 1999. At the recent Dio show in Kavarna, Ronnie wore a ribbon to show his support, and Mr Tsonev is asking other bands that he has promoted and brought to Bulgaria, to do like-wise. [More]
Glenn will be the special guest of Matt Filipini's Moonstone Project at the following Italian shows, joining them onstage for the last hour of their set to run through some classic Purple/Trapeze material. Says Matt: "I am really looking forward to these gigs...I love Glenn, I'm a huge Big Papa fan, he's my fave singer ever and he's a fantastic chap!"
Glenn Hughes is confirmed to play at the Classics in Rock event which will held in Rotterdam, Holland on March 23rd 2007. Joining Glenn will be Anders Olinder and Jeff Kollman. Other artists to appear at this special classic rock evening are John Waite, Neil Murray and many more. After his appearance Glenn will travel to London where he is to rock the Shepherd's Bush Empire on March 25th. This is the rescheduled show from October last year.
Straight after his European tour, Glenn visited Ken Hensley (ex-Uriah Heep) in Spain to sing two songs for a new Hensley project called "Blood On The Highway". A cd is presently scheduled for release by Membran. As Ken Hensley told glennhughes.com: 
"It is a concept record based loosely on my auto-biography, "When Too Many Dreams Come True" which Membran will release on the same date. The songs describe the life of a '70s rock star from the beginning to its natural end with all of the life dynamics that go with it! It was a totally unique time and it needs to be celebrated!" The two songs that Glenn sang are "What you Gonna Do" and the new version
of "The Last Dance" which also features the Alicante Symphony.

Phenomena, the eighties project that turned into more than just one album will release a multidisc set called The Complete Works on November 20th on Escape Music. The limited edition triple CD digipak contains three albums - Phenomena, Dream Runner and Innervision. All digitally re-mastered, with a new front cover plus 6 bonus tracks, and the booklet shall feature the full story of Phenomena.

2007 might very well see Stormbringer released in a remastered version. As deep-purple.net writes: "The Stormbringer multi-tracks have been located. The tapes are in excellent condition and contain amongst other things three different vocals for 'Soldier Of Fortune', a powerful instrumental version of 'Highball Shooter' and Coverdale's original backwards bit for the start of the title track. Glenn Hughes has asked to be involved in the remastered Stormbringer, and will hopefully be able to drop into the studios at the end of the new tour to work on one or two remix ideas. We would expect this to be out in Spring 2007."
Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, the last four dates of the Glenn Hughes European tour in Zurich, Munich, Koln and Bochum have regrettably been cancelled, and all tickets will be refunded. Hopefully, the dates will be rescheduled for 2007, but at the time of this announcement, there are no rescheduled dates confirmed.

On October 19th Glenn was in a fashion show for Junker designs. It is LA Fashion Week, and Junker had their fashion show at the Hollywood Cemetary. They design clothes for lots of rockstars.
Glenn Hughes has formed a new touring band which will accompany him during the upcoming European tour. Longtime partner JJ Marsh will be focusing on his solo career and is already busy writing new music. He recently signed a distribution deal for Europe & UK for the album "Music from Planet Marsh" on Cargo Records. Drummer Mark Mondesir played with musicians like Jeff Beck and John McLaughlin. Glenn will be headlining a special week long event in Kavarna, Bulgaria, on Monday August 21st at the Kaliakra Stadium. The event, translated as 'The week of the Sea', a celebration of the people and region of the Black Sea, is organised by Bulgarian 'Man Of The Year', and Mayor of Kavarna, Tsonko Tsonev. Mr Tsonev was responsible for inviting Glenn for the New Year's Eve show in Karvarna, as well as being the man behind the concerts by Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Scorpions, etc in Kavarna.
Mr Tsonev says; ''Myself and the people of Bulgaria are very proud to be able to invite Glenn back to Kavarna again, and we are especially proud that, after sharing New Year's Eve with him, we will also be sharing Glenn's birthday with him during a time of celebration for the people of our region''
Glenn says that he is very happy and honoured to be going back to play for the wonderful people of Bulgaria and his good friend Tsonko Tsonev. There is no admission for the concert - it is Mr Tsonev's
personal ''thank you'' to the people as part of the week long celebration for the region, as well as being an open invitation for Glenn fans everywhere to come and experience the concert and Black Sea region of Bulgaria.
Rockfans should head for Seebronn (Germany) on July 28, when Glenn will play the Rock Of Ages Festival. Other bands on the bill are Wishbone Ash, House of Lords and Twisted Sister. On September 30, Glenn and band perform at the Excalibur Metal Festival near Madrid (Spain). Other bands on the bill are Vixen, Tony Martin, John Olivia's Pain.
Both shows Glenn and band did last week where a great succes in Belgium and Holland. With a setlist strongly focused on the new material audiences went home more then satisfied, based on the reactions during the shows and afterwards. Glenn will play a one-off show in Rome, Italy on July 20th, with Chili Pepper Chad Smith on the drums. Chad is finding the time for this show in between finishing the RHCP London Earls Court shows, and going to Japan with the Peppers for Fuji Rock. This promises to be as incredible as last years Spanish shows with Chad, and it will most likely be the last chance to see the pair together for some time, making it all the more exclusive and unique. Although Glenn will be playing in Italy during the M4TD tour (dates tbc), the Rome show presents a rare opportunity to see Glenn's supercharged funk, rock and soul. Swedish guitarplayer and Glenn's bandmate for over a decade JJ Marsh recently launched a website in his name: www.jj-marsh.com. JJ's webmaster: "Some of the reference pages are still 'work in progress' because (a) JJ's not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to remembering to provide much-requested information, and (b) he doesn't seem to have the first clue about what albums he's played on, when, where, and who with - bless him. Glenn was interviewed for Radio Australia earlier this week, in the Breakfast Club show. Glenn reveals all about his hopes for an Australian tour soon.
In 2005, during the promotion for the Iommi/Hughes album Fused, Glenn was interviewed in New York by VH-1 for a segment to be included in their upcoming rockumentary series, Heavy: The Story Of Metal. It gets its first airing starting this Monday, May 22nd (9:00PM EST) thru May 29th. Glenn is supposed to be featured in the first of the four featured episodes.

Prior to his appearance at the Bospop Festival on July 8th, Glenn will be playing a warm up show on Thursday July 6th at 'Spirit of '66', a renowned music club in Verviers, Belgium. Please be aware that this date has been added specifically as a warm up show for the festival. It is not the start of the Music For The Divine though it will be a full length show with some new material. The atmosphere will be relaxed, intimate, and it will present a perfect opportunity to try out some of the new material before taking the stage at Bospop.

On July 8th 2006, Glenn Hughes and band will appear on the Bospop Open-Air festival in Weert, Holland. Over 20,000 visitors are expected during the 2 day festival, which presents more than 30 bands. Also to play at Bospop: Joe Jackson, Tragically Hip, Anouk, Simple Minds, The Waterboys, Alan Parsons, Roxy Music and Simply Red. Here is what Glenn has to say about his new album which is called Music for the Divine: "...the title is very important to me - when you hear the music, you'll understand the meaning. The title speaks to me, as all the previous one's have. Divine is goodness and is a statement to the fans that really understand my music. The album has deep lyrical and spiritual meaning and once again is where I'm at, at the present time. I do not wish to tread into the past and so this album is a major step forward to me. This is my most honest and artistic album. I am very glad to know that things have continued to grow along spiritual lines. Because of the amazing changes in my life, that have happened since 'Soul Mover', it has given me a creative output and encouragement to make this new album. When I was growing up in England, my favourite bands & artists were always growing and morphing and continually reinventing themselves and this CD, I believe, has captured all of those elements. Glenn recently teamed up with Pat Thrall again in order to start working again on a successor to the highly acclaimed Hughes/Thrall album (1982). Glenn: "We are going to finish Hughes/Thrall II this summer and have it for release in 2007". Around May the duo will finalize and mix the new recordings in Los Angeles, after which it will be completed by the Summer.
[February 15th, 2006]Matteo Filippini's first Moonstone Project album, titled "Time To Take A Stand" is due for release in April 2006, and will reunite Ian Paice and Glenn Hughes on disc for the first time since 1975. The pair will play together on two numbers, 'Rose In Hell' and "Where Do You Hide (The Blues You've Got)", with Paice doing a third. According to Matt: "On Sept 21st, Ian Paice was in Italy again to record 2 new songs for my Moonstone Project. The sessions were really brilliant with Paice in top form. Also, he used the original cowbell from the 1973 "Burn" sessions!!! These 2 songs, "One Dollar Baby" and "Halfway To Heaven" will be used for the 2nd Moonstone album!" [December 15th, 2005]Glenn is confirmed as the headliner on "Rock the Boat", a 2 day floating rock festival travelling between Oslo and Denmark. Glenn will perform on the second night, Saturday April 29th. Other acts on the Saturday night include Izzy Stradlin (ex Guns N Roses) and Freak Kitchen. Glenn will be making a special New Year's Eve guest appearance in the historical city of Kavarna in Bulgaria, at the invitation of the city's Mayor. The show will take place on Dobrotitsa Square, where Glenn will share the stage with Bulgarian rockers BTR. Glenn and BTR know eachother: they played together in 2002 as well. Looks like Kavarna is heading for a fabulous start of the New Year!

[November 20th, 2005]Looks like Soul Mover will have its Australian release very soon. Label and date are unavailable yet. The release will have a few (!) bonus tracks among which 'Nights in White Satin', which was released earlier this year on the official soundtrack for the movie Stealth.
[October 14th, 2005]Rick Olsson is a Swede currently residing in Los Angeles, working as an art director: "I always try to spread the word about Glenn's latest projects to my friends and anyone else who is interested because his talent is amazing. I recently designed a poster in that I was so pleased with, that I ended up designing a tattoo for myself." Rick was kind enough to send a picture of the tattoo he has on his right arm. Thanks Rick, looks cool!
The California Jam DVD is now slated for release in time for Christmas 2005. As with the first of the Deep Purple archive releases, it will appear on EMI worldwide, except for America (Spitfire/Eagle) and Japan (VAP). The DVD will have a bonus track, Lay Down Stay Down, plus alternate versions of two tracks with different camera angles, as well as interviews with Ian Paice (Jon Lord is also trying to fit one in), a historical commentary (especially for our old friend Geoff Barton), a picture and image gallery, a number of audio options, unseen Super 8mm clips from back-stage and the control tower, on screen histories, etc. Captain California's super 8mm film taken from the control tower and at the band's motel, and has arrived for inclusion on the set. On Saturday, September 10th, members of the music industry will lend their time and talent at a benefit concert for Lissa Wales, an outstanding and devoted freelance photographer who lives in Arizona. For the past two years, Lissa has battled acute myelogenous leukemia and most recently went through a bone marrow transplant. Glenn plans to appear here, at Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, AZ. [June 21st, 2005]Glenn recorded a stunning version of the Moody Blues classic 'Nights in White Satin' together with Chad Smith and John Frusciante of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame. The song appears on the soundtrack of the movie Stealth, featuring Jamie Foxx (oscar winner for his role in Ray) and Jessica Biel. [May 1st, 2005]Tony Iommi's third solo album is named Fused and will hit the streets on July 12th 2005 on Sanctuary Records. The album contains Sabbath riffmeister Iommi on guitars, Glenn Hughes on vocals and Kenny Aronoff on drums. The songs are: Dopamine/Wasted Again/Saviour Of The Real/Resolution Song/Grace/ Deep Inside A Shell/ What You’re Living For/Face Your Fear/The Spell/I Go Insane. The trio plans to tour both the USA and Europe starting October/November 2005. A show on VH1 (USA) with lots of attention for Fused is being scheduled for broadcast later this year. [More...]
The day after the Arrow Classic Rock show on June 11th, Glenn, Chad Smith, JJ Marsh and Kjell Haraldson will play a show in Zoetermeer, Holland. This show (Sunday June 12th) will be a full and original funkrock extravaganza! It will be the only European club gig so far featuring this line up. Furthermore, Glenn will play in Sofia, Bulgaria on May 28th. Finally, a South American tour is currently being put together for August 2005. Countries to be visited are Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Mexico. After this latin adventure the band might travel to Russia. A tour with Tony Iommi is still in the pipeline, but is not likely to happen before November 2005. More details when available!
[April 11th, 2005]Glenn did a session with the Vargas Blues Band or their new album called 'Love, Union, Peace'. Other artists on the album are Jack Bruce (Cream), Alex Ligertwood (Santana), Elliot Murphy, Devon Allman, Reese Wynans (SRV´s Double Trouble). The album was recorded at the Ardent Studios n Memphis, USA.
Good news for Dutch fans, as since Glenn Hughes will appear on the Arrow Classic Rock festival on June 11 2005! Glenn will play a set largely based on his Deep Purple and Black Sabbath past (hence the name of the festival) but will play some new songs of the highly acclaimed Soul Mover album as well! Chad Smith will join Glenn on drums. Moonstone is a new project by the Italian guitarist Matteo Filippini. Look for special guest appearances from Ian Paice, Glenn Hughes and John Lawton. Ian and Glenn can be heard together in the song "Rose in Hell".

In December 2004, Tony Iommi and Glenn Hughes got together with drummer Kenny Aronoff and cut 13 tracks for a new album that will be released in 2005. The songs, produced by Bob Marlette, are currently in the process of mixing and mastering. A tour following the album release is currently being considered. Tony Iommi recently spoke to Rolling Stone magazine on the upcoming joint effort.

[January 28th, 2005]Glenn, Chad Smith and guitarist Jerry Cantrell (ex Alice in Chains) recorded a stunning version of Led Zeppelin's "Misty Mountain Hop" earlier this week. The song is rumored to appear on the soundtrack of a movie called "Lords of Dogtown".

[January 24th, 2005]Today, January 24th, marks the release of Glenn's new solo album called "Soul Mover". The album will be released by Frontiers in Europe. An American release is planned on Sanctuary Records (date will be announced soon), and Japan follows on March 2nd on Yamaha Music. Soul Mover was recorded live at Sound Image Studios in Los Angeles in the Spring of 2005 and features Chad Smith on drums, and JJ Marsh on guitar. The album also features ex-Chili Peppers and Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro on the title track. Glenn on Soul Mover:
"Chad and I wanted an organic feel as it was necessary to capture the emotion that can only happen when all of us are playing live in the same room together. We were in a semi-circle with the amps bleeding a little into the drums just as I used to record when I first started playing."
