Hi Everyone,
Gab and I are leavin' for London 2nite...the gal needs a lil' vacation, so she is joining me on this trip to London/Spain and Prague. F U N K is a benchmark achievement...I have raised the bar...I will be writing all next year...compiling all my new songs. Have 4 or 5 that are cookin' @ the moment...it'll be bootilicious and Soul saturated.
May all your dreams come true...may all of your lives be touched by kindness, generosity, and love...I am always with you.

Hi Everyone,
What a Summer eh?
It has been a very busy time 4 me, with many stops in the UK, due 2 payin' my respects to Melville and his family....I miss him so much.
So we pick up the pieces and travel on this sojourn that is set out B4 us...God's in Charge, and there are NO mistakes in his Divine world.
I really enjoyed my shows in Norway with Jo Henning and the guys....its a beautiful country that has welcomed me with warmth and love...thanx.
New Zealand was fantastic...I was the only Singer @ a Guitar Festival....great reception, and I wanna thank Sonya and her staff 4 takin' good care of Anders and myself while we were there...never seen so much rain in all my life, hey, and I was born in the rainswept UK!!
Here @ home in LA for the weekend....gonna pop in 2 Toni and Guy and have the new GH haircut this afternoon....all the dogs will be groomed down on Belmont shore 2morrow....yes, when I'm home its all very domestic...just pottering around in the garden, checkin' on the trees/shrubs and flowers that I have planted...I used to watch my Father do the same proceedure as a young impressionable lad...who would have thought I would follow suit??!!
I go 2 Italia next week 2 play with Matteo, that's always fun (love Italy).
So, to all my USA fans, it will be nice to see you on the RRFC camp tour...I will be there to say hi 2 you all....I am really lookin' 4ward to playin' with my band in the States next year, I am rarin' 2 go.
Just remember that I really appreciate all the love that you continue to give me...it is the greatest gift in the world...and I love you back....yep, it's a love thang people.....
Keep it Funky...

Hi Everyone,
I had an amazin' time on Part One of the European Tour....this has been the most rewarding one on many levels....the comaradarie between myself and my band and crew was second to none....lifelong memories people!
I want to thank all my fans who came out and raised the roof everynight......and again, welcome to the new, younger fans....you make the difference.
I have been @ my LA home for a week, now I head back to London this evening for a series of shows in Norway/Germany....then I'm off to New Zealand.
Wherever you are reading this in the world, I wish you love, and that your life is full of amazing experiences, and euphoric nirvana.

Hi everyone,
Don't you wanna get back to the grind!!
Everyday is a new day...another vital experience.
I am blown away @ seein' the young faces in the audience...it shows me that I have made some good choices in my musical direction....listenin' to fans after the shows, and what their take is on the new setist, has really opened the floodgates to move 4ward. After all, being a Solo Artist does come with its advantages, now having a larger selection of material to choose from is Paramount to my vision.
For those of you who have seen the new show...thanx for the beautiful response, some of you had not even heard any F U N K songs until the concert...hugs to you all for allowin' me to grow...this means the World 2 me.
Last night in Budapest there were many new fans, who were not DP fans, they are GH solo all the way....it is so refreshing to know that you are out there, you give me so much 2 look 4ward to.
In life we must be free...some of us don't let go...I want 4 nothin' other than to be centered, and have a conscious contact with my Higher Power...with this, anything is possible....the universe is waitin'.
It aint no fake, it's a way of livin'.
See you.....

MESSAGE FROM GLENN!
[February 2, 2008]
Hi everyone,
I am very happy to announce the world release of my new album First
Underground Nuclear Kitchen... It will be available the first
week of May... I am extremely proud of these songs. When I record songs,
I never normally play them over and over, but this album is very addictive...
I can't stop playin' it...
It is a roots album, it is a true account of my musical heritage...
it is an album, that is also fearless... Multi-dimensional... and remember,
I never make the same album twice, I'm not one to bask in the past...
it is an in the moment record... It's very emotional... I worked
some long hours in my home studio... I believe that the hard work has
been worth waitin' 4... this is 4 all my fans, and beyond...
This is a deep Musical Statement... God Bless you all...

Hi everyone,
Wow,
what a year! It is a time for me to give thanx to my Higher Power,
for, one more time, givin' me the gifts to, make music, both on tour
and in the studio...
It has also been a time of loss...the Passing of my very close friend
Kevin Dubrow, has left a void in mine and Gabi's life... He was, is,
part of our family. Words cannot describe how deeply saddened we both
are... Like Tommy Bolin, I will honor his name... I knew a very personable,
intelligent, generous and hilarious KD... may he rest in Peace...
Wanna thank you the many people who attended my concerts this year:
from LA to New York, from Moscow to London, from Rio to Kiev... Thanx
for growing with me...
Now... I have just completed my new album... we are mixing @ the moment,
and will be mastering in January... I'm always excited about recording
new albums, the songs are personal to me, as they are constantly being
shaped thru out the year... Well here goes.. I have never EVER had
an experience like this B4... this Music is changing my life, it feels
like these songs have been livin' inside of me for quite sometime,
waitin' for the right moment to be born... These songs are a gift
to myself, those that are closest to me are saying that this is my
greatest work... simply because I was not afraid to show myself as
an artist... and, I really pushed myself as a songwriter, both musically
and lyrically to the MAX..
If you want a comparison, there isn't one, but it's in the "Play
Me Out, You Are The Music and Feel" vibe... It will change the
way I make music for the rest of my life... There is no doubt in my
mind, that this work will enable me to become a better person, God
wants us all to have our innermost hearts desires, and this is mine...
It will be released worldwide in April... It is the greatest high
I've ever had, better than Drugs, Food, Sport, and yes even better
than Sex...
I got somethin' cookin' for ya...

I have been touring the world for the last 10 years as a solo artist

These shows will set the blueprint for more shows across The USA,
I genuinely was taken by the surprise of the intensity and the reaction
of eveyone who attended... I wanna thank my brother and Partner Chad
Smith, and my band Jeff Kollman, Ed Roth, and Steve Stephens... The
shows were soulful, Funked up and Rocked out GH style, and I loved

I will open the theatre that is named the Glenn Hughes Music Hall.
It is my first time in this country since Purple. I am really looking
forward to it. After that I will be in Italy playing with my friends
in the Moonstone Project. I know a lot of you will be coming out to
see me and it is going to be fun. I want everyone to enjoy themselves.

Hi everyone,
I am in Russia, and wanted to give you all the news about the rumour
of a Deep Purple MKIII re-union. As I have been the one that is consistantly
being bombarded with the same question over and over again. My answer
has always been that there a 5 members, and that at no time have we
had a band discussion about a re-union. Yes, David and I flirted with
the idea 18 months ago, and since then my brother has fully comitted
himself to his love and nurturing of his beloved Whitesnake. For all
GH followers, you can all see that my solo career has gone to another
level, playing to more people around the world - the popularity and
the demand for my activity has risen... David's recent statement has
finally put this rumour to bed... Although I would have loved to have
seen it happen under the right circumstances, I'm just as happy to
let the increbible legacy of the Mighty MKIII remain intact... See
you somewhere in concert on the Planet this year...

a full orchestra, I get chills thinking about it. See you there on
Friday evening... My show on Sunday evening in London will also be
a special event for me. I have had a great start 2 the year, and this

It's feels good headlining theaters again, I have missed the big stages.
The passion and the soul will be carried onto the stage @ Sheperds

an important market for me. I will keep you updated when more shows
are confirmed. Please be advised as to get your tickets soon...

Firstly I want to thank all of you who have sent messages to me this
last week. We are all okay and we really appreciate all your kind
thoughts. We spent christmas eve with Chad, Nancy & Cole in Malibu
and we just laughed our asses off. We were driving around in a golf
cart looking for santa. I hope you all have a fabulous 2007. Once
again, I want to thank my higher power for giving me one more day

people and I get completely lost in my music. As you probably know
I am writing all the time. It is my music that sustains me. My sobriety

I will be playing in many countries in 2007. They will be posted soon.
I will see you on my journey. Please remember to love one another.

Hi everyone,
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you this holiday season...
I took Gab to her office as I was picking her up at 5.00 to go to
Chad and Nancy's Xmas party... When I pulled in my drive, the pool
man was leaving, so, I go in the house and the dogs were goin' crazy.
Then I noticed the debris and saw drawers and clothes even the ashes
of Lamont, Simka and Pookie had been thown on the floor out of their
little caskets. I found Hughy and Princess hiding under one of the
couches. I started to feel sick to my stomach. How could they have
got into my fortress? There is a wall and high fence around my property,
you can't enter from the road, there is an outer gate that has to
be security opened , and then you have to walk thru a courtyard. They
got in thru a side door, and left by the patio overlooking the pool,
that would be the patio in the mastersuite... they took a lot of extemely
valuable jewellry belonging to Gab and myself around $100.000 worth.
We are both fine, but feel terribly violated. The police team that
took our case were very kind and cordial, let's wait and see what
happens, these were were very personal items that my wife and i had
given to each other on birthday's and Xmas, like I have said before
, there are no mistakes in Gods world, but I can tell you this. In
the morning, I have enough security people and surveilance to make
our home Fort Knox West...
We are all ok, merry Xmas 2 you all and love one another...

Hi everyone,
Just got back last night to LA. I am really looking forward to the
Christmas holiday. In my opinion this tour was an extremely vibrant
experience. Mark, Anders and Jeff were all complete revelations to
me. It has been such a long time since I felt such emotion singing
with my band. The Groove, the Funk... the Soul... all extremely passionate
and I love my new band both on and off stage. I will have great memories
from this tour. For those of you were there, I hope you felt the vibe.
The band really inspired me to new heights. The musicianship on stage
deeply spoke to me, and I look forward to the next leg of the tour
in February.

Soul Mover and to be on the charts especially in the UK is beautiful.
a lot of hard work has been put into this album. I am now in full

It is a massive piece of work. 15 songs were recorded. I would like
you all to know I spent all of last year writing, arranging and preparing
these songs. I spent way more time on this album than any other album
of my career. I don't think anybody will argue that this is a turning
point for me. A few of my real close friends have been to chad's to

you know I always get really involved in making my music and you may
have heard me say this before, but this is without a doubt my finest
hour. I have worked really hard and put in a lot of extra time to
ensure that the songs are strong. Chad is really a great producer
and he is working me to the bone. We wrote a new song on Saturday
in the studio that is possibly one of the best songs I've ever written.
The album will be finished at the end of the month and we will mix
the first week of march. I can tell you this: the album will have
the most variety of my musical styles as it is where I am in my life.
It is honest, and I believe I will push the boat further. I hope you

Hi Everyone,
I am pleased to announce that my album Soul Mover will be released
January 24th, 2005 by Frontiers in Europe and around that time by
Yamaha in Japan. An American release will follow shortly after that.
This album was recorded live at Sound Image Studios in Los Angeles
in the Spring of 2004. Chad and I wanted an organic feel as it was
necessary to capture the emotion that can only happen when all of
us are playing live in the same room together. We were in a semi-circle
with the amps bleeding a little into the drums just as I used to record
when I first started playing. I want to thank Chad for pushing me
to do this. This recording comes at a time when I wanted you the listener,
to know more of me as a song writer and singer than ever before. This
CD was recorded with a lot of love and passion. Those close to this
recording feel it is a ground breaking album and the beginning of
the next phase in my life both professionally and personally. I have
been humbled by the experience of making this album, quite simply
because it is a very honest record, and I want you to know what makes
me tick. See you on the Soul Mover Tour beginning February 2005.

Hi Everyone,
Nice to meet new fans in Chile last week. This week I am back in production
on the new studio album where I am working with Fabrizio Grossi and
Ed Roth laying down some trippy keyboards. As I said before I will
be taking the whole summer in between my shows and trips outside the
country to complete this special album. My
next trip will be leaving to Budapest next week to headline a festival
there on the 10th. On the 11th through the 13th I will be in Prague
doing a session, and then I will go to Italy for a show on the 17th
in Arenzano, which is near Genova and Milan. I look forward to seeing
you all there.
Still can't get over Beckham's missed penalty in the quarter finals...
Hope
you all are in great health, spirit and ready to have a rocking summer.

We
are in the final stages of post production on the live dvd/cd. As
you might know it is called "Soulfully Live in the City of Angels".
I am really excited about this release later this summer. Chad, JJ
and I are rehearsing and in pre production for the next studio album.
This album won't be released until sometime in 2005. We are cutting
live next week. This is the format that trapeze and Deep Purple recorded
in. We will record guitar, bass and drums on the same session. I am
really looking forward to this. This album promises to be something
really special. I will take the whole summer to produce this album
as I feel it is an
important one.

I hope you are having a fab summer. It's really hot up here on the hill

months I have made Songs in the Key of Rock, HTPII and most recently
Voodoo Hill 2. I have been in the mood to focus in on my rock side.
A couple of years ago it was being questioned if I was going to stray
away from this format. I have been having a lot of fun writing, producing
and performing these albums, but...for those of you who are wondering
where the funk and the epic ballads and the acoustic music is, it is
right here. I am writing continually all these forms of music and adding
them to my library. I am truly grateful that i have been given a gift
to write and sing in these styles. As I have said in the press lately,
the voice of rock is rockin' again. I
will continue to make music that is spontaneous and free. Thank you
for joining me on my journey. Thank you for all your posts. I read them
daily. I am working this week on finalizing some shows for Europe this

Got halfway through the new album and was stricken with a horrid cold
over the last week, so I will resume work later this week and will be
handing in the mastered CD at the end of the month to my record companies:
Pony Canyon in Japan and Frontiers in Europe. The
album is called "Songs in the Key of Rock". SIKR was written
with a 70's vintage frame of mind. I surrounded myself with 70's stuff:
70's clothes, 70's everything, and I found myself back in 1973. The
sounds you will be hearing and the songs are trippy and hard and greased
up rock. You can serve this one up nice and hot on the summer barbecue.
Look for this in May in Japan and early June in Europe.
Hope
everyone will have a happy, healthy and rocking new year. Thanks for

FROM GLENN!
[April
3, 2002] Hello everyone: it was great for me to see my fans this
weekend in Koblenz. I was added to the show late I didn't choose any
of the material and was only slated to sing "Manic Depression". It was
great to sing with my friends Alex & Bobby, and it was a great ensemble
feeling. Possibly this was one of the highlights of my musical career.
(this of course in the R&B/jazz style) I have been asked to do more
shows with David Garfield and friends and I will continue to do so,
so maybe I will get to see more fans who enjoy this style of music.
It is getting closer to the time when Joe & I leave for Japan and we
are really looking forward to it. I think the review of HTP by Mr. Dome
is absolutely hilarious. Nothing freaks me out anymore. I'm actually
writing HTP II at the moment.
One
day at a time, Glenn

[March

a fantastic time. I ran into some old friends -Mel Galley & Pete Hanysz
(you'll notice his photo from our school days) and Tony Perry my Trapeze
manager. Saw Malcom Dome on the Sarah Miles show in London and I did
a huge interview with Jerry Ewing for "Classic Rock" about Glenn and
DP. now I am back in the studio writing some of the best songs I have
ever written which were inspired by this trip to the UK. There is a
lot going on at the moment. I will keep in touch. lots of love to all
of you, glenn

Hi
everyone, just want to check in with everybody. I'm off for a little
vacation in the U.K. and i want to thank you all for the support on
HTP. It's doing really well in Japan, for all those people in Europe,
it'll be out the 3rd week of March and for my American fans, we are
working on an American deal right now. It is my strongest desire to
tour Europe with HTP in September. I am really hoping that this will
happen. May life be good to you. Now I'm on my way to see Wolves FC.

Hi
Everyone, For all of you out there who I have met recently at the Bad
Co shows, I want to thank you for the love and support and for taking
time to say hello to me at the shows. It is always my greatest pleasure,
to say hello to my fans. Paul Rodgers and I are friends, and I always
enjoy seeing him work. Paul is singing better than ever and looks great
too. It was great to see Simon again. We had a few good laughs. And
what can you say about Simon? He is tremendous. I got to see some other
old friends backstage, and it was a long night but I thoroughly enjoyed
myself. Life is Good. May Life be Good to all of YOU. Your friend, Glenn

On
January 12th, Glenn sent the following message:
Hi everyone!
I am on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii.
We are taping the VH1 special today and this evening. I have seen a
few of my fans from the Mainland here, and received many messages from
Hawaiian fans who are coming to the show to see me. I am in great shape,
and good mind, and great spirit. Wishing you all the same, Glenn (he
who shall never go in the sun again). Next week I am going to swim with
the dolphins.
MESSAGE FROM GLENN!
[December
20, 2001] "Hi
everyone, just to clear things up once and for all; I took it upon myself
to get to Florida while I was ill, in the hopes that I would be able
to perform. I had already been taking medication. By Friday lunchtime
I could not swallow, let alone speak. A doctor came to see me at my
hotel room at the Hard Rock and told me that I had a severly infected
throat and flu. He then proceeeded to stick a 10 inch needle into my
left buttock, and instructed me not to speak for 7 days. It pains me
to cancel ANY show in ANY country. I knew this cancellation to my American
fans would a crushing blow, but not more than it was to me. If you only
knew how much I wanted to sing for you, you probably would understand
a little. to those of you who are really angry at me, I'm sorry. My
fans and the people who like my music are important to me. For the last
10 years I've been building a credible fan base and if you have ever
met me you know I am not a deceitful person. I only hope that one day
I can make it up to my fans by doing a show for you and having the chance
to meet you in person. For those of you who may still be angry at that
time, I can only hope that you never have the illness that I am still
suffering from, and that you can find some sort of peace in your heart
this holiday season. With much love, Glenn"
MESSAGE FROM GLENN!
[December
16, 2001] "As
you all know I was struck with the flu this last week, but I went to
Orlando as scheduled on Thursday hoping that I would feel better by
Friday afternoon. I had to have a doctor come to see me at my hotel
and medicate me and he told me at that time to take the rest of the
year off. I was very disappointed. I hope to make it up to you and see
you sometime next year. Your messages of concern for my well being were
very touching. Thank you very much, Glenn"
MESSAGE FROM GLENN!
[December
1, 2001] "Hi
Everyone,
I am back from a successful trip to Russia and on my way to Vegas together
with the Voices of Classic Rock. Looking forward to seeing some of you
there on Monday night at the House of Blues. I'd like to express my
sadness at the passing of George Harrison. George was very kind to me
in the early Trapeze years. We were recording at Apple Studios in London
and he let me borrow one of his bass guitars. He was very inspirational
to me as a musician but more importantly, in the spiritual path that
we have both taken. Long live the Beatles. Life is too short.
Glenn"
MESSAGE FROM GLENN!
[November
20, 2001] "Hello
everyone,
first of all I want to say thank you to all my South American fans for
all your tremendous support. You are all crazy. To all my Russian fans,
I am looking forward to seeing you this weekend. I'm in the mood to
rock. Now, to all my American fans, my shows at the House of Blues in
Vegas December 3rd with VCR and my solo performance at the Orlando City
Walk December 14th are special to me as they will be the last concerts
for me this year, and the Orlando show will be a special mini-set. I
hope to see as many of you at these shows as possible. I look forward
to meeting all of you.
God Bless You,
The Rock n' Funk Pontiff"
MESSAGE TO SOUTH AMERICAN
FANS!
[October 27,

of Classic Rock. Here is Glenn's message to his fans there.
"To all my fans in Brazil, Lima and Bolivia:
I am really looking forward to seeing you. I have a lot of friends and fans in Sao Paolo and Brazil and I hope to meet new fans in the other cities I will be going to. UPDATE FROM GLENN!
[October 5,
2001] Hello
Everyone! I have just been to the
www board and I want to let you know that all your great reviews
of BTM and your support really mean a lot to me. I have been getting
great reviews from the international press, but to know that my fans
love and appreciate this album means an incredible amount to me. Thank
you for your support,
Big G.
UPDATE FROM GLENN!
[September
29, 2001] Hello
Everyone!I
have been talking to the world press the past 3 weeks and I am really
moved that in their opinion that this is the best solo CD that I've
done. I am finally being recognized as an artist who has been allowed
to incorporate funk and soul into rock. It has given me great confidence,
and I am humbled by it. Thank you all for your great personal reviews,
as I read the message board in the morning before going in the studio.
The
Christmas CD will be available again this year ready to order the first
week in October. The first 50 CDs are signed by me, and enclosed you
will find a used pick from the BTM sessions. As you know, I use a lot
of picks.
And, like last year, a portion of all sales will go to the Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation.
"You can call me Papa or you can call me 'G'"
UPDATE FROM GLENN!
[September
16, 2001] "Hello
Everyone! I hope all my fans and their families and friends who might
be in New York or Washington, D.C. are all safe. The events of last
Tuesday have deeply saddened me and my family. It has been almost impossible
to work this week.
Joe
(Lynn Turner) was able to arrive last night, so we will start working
today. The album (the Hughes Turner Project) will be recorded starting
next weekend. We are both really excited about it. No one has recorded
the 'two lead singers' album in years; maybe since David and I, so it
is going to be special.
I
am overcome with deep gratitude from the reviews by music critics and
fans for BTM. Everyone seems to agree that this is the best GH solo
album-this is their favorite. And, with this week's events, the song
'Big Sky' takes on a whole new meaning. My music has always been about
the human condition and emotions. I hope BTM moves you like it moves
me.
Love, Peace and Soul, your friend and brother, Glenn."
UPDATE FROM GLENN!
[August 27,
2001] "Hello
everyone! This is the week I start press for BTM, and finish up songs
with Joe. The reviews so far have been the best of my career. I deliberately
haven't given too much information about this album. I have let it speak
for itself. I live in these songs, so sometimes it is hard to describe
what I am feeling in words, but if you are a Glenn Hughes fan, you will
totally understand this album. It is a fresh buzz of GH rocka-funka-soula.
You're gonna dig it. Regards from the Funky side, Big G"
UPDATE FROM GLENN!
[July 31, 2001] "Hi
Everyone. As
you well know, the album 'Building the Machine' will be out September
24th in Europe and Japan. I haven't been given a release date for the
USA yet. BTM is a very emotional album. I think you will find it a record
that you want to listen to over and over again. I haven't felt this
good singing in the studio since Trapeze. It is very real, emotional,
and very raw. I can't wait for you all to listen to it.
I will be playing with VoCR at City-Jazz in Orlando, Florida, USA, on August 12th. This is for the WMMO Rockforever Charity Golf Classic. There are limited tickets available via ticketmaster or universal.
On August 16th VoCR will be playing at London Ontario Racetrack in London, Ontario, Canada. On the 17th of August we play at the Sarnia Racetrack in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. I will be joined by Pat Travers, Joe Lynn Turner, Pete Rivera and Alex Ligertwood, just to name a few. It was really great to see so many of my fans the last time I was in Canada. I hope you can make it this time too. Remember that we record live all the VoCR concerts for downloading on the rockforever.com site. Big Daddy needs your support. Miss you, look forward to seeing you on the road somewhere. /G
UPDATE FROM GLENN!
[July 15, 2001] "Hi
everyone. I hope you all are enjoying your summer, wherever you are.
While i was in New York a few weeks ago to do the WPLJ radio show with
Voices of Classic Rock, Gabi joined me. She & I went shopping in Greenwich
Village and saw a beautiful long-haired chihuahua puppy. We fell in
love with her, and after much discussion over whether or not we should
get a dog, we got her and brought her back to LA with us. Her name is
Lily Penelope Hughes. So my days have been filled with house training
and being a new 'Dad'.
I leave for 3 shows in Canada next week. I hope to see some of my fans -please make yourself known. I will be joined by a VOCR lineup of Pat Travers, Bobby Kimball, Joe Lynn turner, Mike Reno, John Cafferty, and my old friend, Spencer Davis.
On August
5th I will be guesting with Mountain, my friend Leslie West's group.
When I was in Trapeze this was one of my favorite bands. I shall be
singing a Mountain song and a classic Purple song that will be recorded
for DVD and a live CD. This will take place at the Westbury Music Festival
in New York. I will give you more details as I get them myself.
(Note: This gig has been cancelled since then! See below.)
I have
been busy finishing up songs for HTP (Hughes Turner Project). This album
will be recorded in LA the month of September for release early next
year. Hope to see you in Canada! May life be good to all of you.
Your Friend,
Glenn, father of Lily."
BACK HOME AGAIN!
[June 12, 2001] "Hello Everyone!
I am back home, after a long journey. Despite the fact that this tour
was plagued with production and technical difficulties as well as sickness
for me and my band from Hardenberg onwards, I was fortunate that most
of the shows were run smoothly and with good health. I was told by my
doctor to cancel all shows after Hardenberg as I had a running fever
as well as a heavy cold, but I just could not do this.
I connected with many more fans in different and new markets, and this
was really a success for me. I enjoyed meeting everyone, and would like
to thank you for your generosity. As usual your support is much appreciated
and at times overwhelming. I love it!
Now I am at home, and I still have a cold, so I will be spending the
rest of this week taking it easy and recovering. But rest assured, I
will be back to work before you know it.
Stay Funky
the Funkiest of all Funkmen, Glenn
MESSAGE FROM GLENN!
[May 17, 2001] "Hello
everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that i have been very busy
getting ready to do the European tour. JJ arrived on Tuesday and we
began rehearsing. I have to go to Central America over the weekend with
the Voices of Classic Rock, and after that I return home to finish rehearsing.
I look forward to seeing you at the shows. Until then, stay fun(ky)

GLENN TALKS ABOUT THE TOUR!
[April 23, 2001] "Hi everyone! I would just like to say hello 2
you all, and let you know that the dates are all now confirmed 4 my

known, and make some noise!! /Glenn
GLENN COMMENTS THE US DATES!
[March 29, 2001] "Hi
Everyone! I am sorry it has taken me most of the week to get back to
you and thank you for all the great comments and reviews on the
www board. I must tell you that I get so into my shows and the songs
and performing and I want to meet everyone at every show, so it takes
me a few days to come down. But here I am now! It was great to talk
to Gabi from the road after the Birch Hill gig and hear about all the
love that was on the website. Every day she would call me and read the
reviews. Pretty soon the band was listening in and wanting to know everything
that you thought. It was great! I just want to say thank you to all
my fans who were able to make the shows. I know that many of you traveled
a very long way and I am extremely touched. This past weekend was very
special for me, and you all made it more so with your outpouring of
support, and I can't thank you enough." Glenn
UPDATE FROM GLENN!
[March 11, 2001] "Hello
Everyone! Today is my last day in the studio. We are finishing the mix
tonight. As you know I am always very excited when I have completed
a new solo album. But I firmly believe this is my finest hour as a solo
artist. It is the most well-rounded album that I have done. It is a
rock album that is influenced with the rock funk style that is Glenn
Hughes. This CD is very melodic and features also a couple of acoustic
tracks. My vocals on the album are heartfelt with raw emotion and intensity.
On Wednesday evening, March 14th, I will be on national radio-check
your local listings for "Rockline". In Los Angeles this will be on KLOS
95.5 FM. I will be appearing with Bobby Kimball, Joe Lynn Turner, Mickey
Thomas, Pat Travers and John Cafferty. As you all know, I am the "new
guy" in the group (The Voices of Classic Rock). We will be talking and
maybe even singing. We will be taking phone calls live on the air. Since
Joe is in town, he will stay at my house Thursday & Friday so we can
write. Joe & I are commited to making a record together this summer.
Next weekend I will be in rehearsal with Brian & George and we leave
for New Jersey on the 21st. I'm comin' to get ya."

UPDATE FROM GLENN ABOUT
THE US TOUR!
[March 7, 2001]
"Hello
everyone, I have been very busy and I know you are patiently waiting
for news from me, so here it is! As
regards the shows I am to do in the USA, I will tell you now that I
am confirming the shows in New Jersey, Virginia and New York. At
this time I do not have tour support from my record label, but I want
to play, and I will do these shows with or without their help.
If they
do not get me support for the remaining shows, I will be forced to cancel
them. At this time, I would advise my fans in the cities of Chicago,
Attleboro and Ft. Lauderdale to abstain from buying tickets. As
much as I love to play, and as much as I love to see my fans, I am not
able to financially fund a whole tour by myself.
As you can imagine, this causes me much distress, but I feel confident
that you, my true fans, will understand the constraints I am under.
I look forward to meeting all the fans that are sticking by me and buying
tickets to these three shows. The shows and my fans are very important
to me. Joining me on stage will be: George Nastos on guitar and Brian
Tichy on drums. For those who are familiar with Brian, his most recent
tour was with Ozzy on Ozzfest 2000. He has played with Stevie Salas,
Zakk Wylde and Slash. He is a monster drummer, and I am really looking
forward to having him on board. I
chose George because it would appear to me that you want a little funk.
So Iam going to bring it to you. Once again, I thank those of you who
for months, not to mention years, have stood by me. I will see you at
the meet 'n greet at the gigs."
/Glenn

UPDATE FROM GLENN!
[February 18, 2001]
"Hello Everyone! This has been a very busy time for me! Today JJ,
Ferg & I go into the studio to rehearse for the new album. We will
start recording on Tuesday. JJ has been staying with me this week, and
we have been writing some great songs that I am very excited about and
I think my fans will love. I think this will be a classic rock CD. I
want to thank everyone who writes on the www board. I read it every
day and I want you to know I'm listening! Now, about the tour. I know
everyone is asking questions and wondering when dates will be confirmed.
My booking agent is working his ass off to get me dates. As this is
my first solo tour in the USA, this isn't as easy as you, my dear fans,
may think. As I have said to you before, I really want to play in the
country where I live. This is where my career took off with Trapeze,
and I see great things happening in America. Whether the tour ends up
being 3 days, or 300 days, I will play them all. Fans in Europe, Japan
and South America will also be paid a visit by Papa this year. I hope
everyone is enjoying the video. I am really proud of it. Life just keeps
on getting better and better. May life be good to all of you! Come and
say 'hi' to me on tour. Until then, Stay Fun(ky), Glen
UPDATE
FROM GLENN!
[January
8, 2001] Here is a new message from Glenn:
"Hi
Everyone,
first I'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I would like to thank
everyone who bought the Christmas CD. Pink Cloud will be taking orders
until January 19th, and then it will become available again toward the
end of the year. "Days
of Avalon" video and the Making Of is being released February 1st. I
want to tell you again how happy I am with this project. It is the first
official Glenn Hughes documentary and I hope you all enjoy it. The
American tour is coming together. As per usual, I will let you know
the dates of my shows and the cities I will be in as soon as I know
them myself. If
any of you LA area fans happen to be going to the NAMM show at the Anaheim
convention center, you might see me at the Vigier guitar booth! This
event is January 18-21st. My friend Ronnie Montrose is doing a show
at the Phoenix in Anaheim and has asked me to sing a few songs, and
I am really looking forward to that. If you are at the NAMM show, see
if you can get passes to this show. It is being sponsored by Baker Guitars.
Thanks
for your support,
Glenn"
UPDATE FROM GLENN!
[December 10,
2000] "Hi Everyone! This
week I was asked to perform with Ronnie Montrose at the Mark & Brian
KLOS Christmas show on December 15th. The song is from Ronnie's new
album, "Ressurection Shuffle". I hope all my fans will be
able to tune in to 95.5 FM to hear me, or better yet, call KLOS and
try to win tickets to the Wiltern to see the show yourself! The lineup
includes Rick Springfield, Great White, Randy Travis & David Coverdale.
Marc Bonilla is the musical director. This is the second time I have
performed at this event, and I always have a good time. This was a sad
week for me and many other friends of Bill Eskridge, as he passed away
on Thursday. I was by his side at the end. Yesterday I sang 'Coast To
Coast' at his funeral. As you know, the Christmas CD was Bill's idea
and this was his 'pet project' and I am very thankful that he was able
to hear it before he left us. Be good to one another this Holiday Season.
Let Love in. Peace, Glenn"
GLENN TALKS ABOUT THE EURO TOUR!
[October 30, 2000]
"Hi everyone. This week JJ arrived at my house from Sweden
and we have been in the studio rehearsing with Ferg. The band sounds
tight. It has a 'back to the roots' feel for me, as I feel real comfortable
playing in a trio. In this format I can express myself. I am very excited
about the tour and I am looking forward to seeing all of my fans. Until
then, take it easy.
/Big G."
THE LATEST FROM GLENN!
[September 30,
2000] "Hello Everyone! I have been very busy these days.
Pat Travers and I completed the pre-production song writing sessions
last week. We are hoping to record the album in December, after my tour.
I'm going out as a trio on the European tour. I wanted the sound and
vibe to be in-your-face with a heavy funk back beat, extremely live
and energetic. You'll see JJ, Ferg and I on this tour. I hope to see
as many of you as can make my shows in Germany, Belgium and in England.
I am working on getting more shows. If this happens, you will be the
first to know. Thank you so very much. More news next week. /Glenn"
UPDATE FROM GLENN!
[September 18,
2000] "Hi Everyone! This week I am busy finishing the

Wednesday night and will stay through the week for another pre-production
session. Until next time, Stay Fun(ky). /Big Daddy G"
DAYS OF AVALON VIDEO SOON FINISHED!
[September 5,
2000] "Hi everyone. We are in final stage of post production
of "Days of Avalon, and the Making of". It will be the video
of the song, plus a behind the scenes look at the process of making
the video. Cameras were rolling the whole weekend. I have put together
a documentary (my first as a solo artist). It was a lot of fun. The
package can be ordered on Pink Cloud later this month. /Glenn"
GLENN COMMENTS THE TOUR SCHEDULE
[August 7, 2000]
"Hi Everyone! Thanks for all your messages this week. I would like to make sure that everyone understands one thing: if it was up to me, I would be on tour 6 months
a year in every city you can think of, in every country you can name.
However, this is not the case. My tour dates and schedule are left up
to my mangement, my agent and my record company. I am doing all I can
to exend the R.O.C.K. tour. I only go on-line and tell you dates that
are confirmed. I do not want to leave you with misinformation &
unconfirmed rumors on my web site. No one is hurt more than I am when
I do not perform on stage. There are many markets I want to play on
this tour. Please keep your fingers crossed! I hope to see you all soon.
Until then, Stay Fun(ky) /Big G."
BUSY TIMES!
[July
15, 2000] "Hi Everyone! These are busy times. I am on
my way to New York this week to work with Pat Thrall. Meanwhile here
is a shot of me taken at Hans' studio recording the Christmas album."
NEW UPDATE FROM GLENN!
[May 20, 2000] ""Hi
everyone! I have just returned from New York City,
where I have been working with Pat Thrall, and I can
tell you all this: The new Hughes/Thrall is going to
blow your mind! That's all I can reveal at this time.
As cool as the first Hughes/Thrall was, this is
equally, if not more, important. This weekend, I am
shooting film for a video as well as a "making
of" the video for the song 'Days of Avalon' off
of R.O.C.K. The video will be shot at a soundstage in
Hollywood, at the beach, at my home, and one more
location TBD. I think you will be blown away by the
scale, scope, and overall production of this film.
More on this next week. I am off to a session with
Marc Bonilla. Stay Fun(ky),

GLENN AT MEMORIAL CONCERT
[April 30, 2000]
"Hi everyone,
I returned home to LA late on Wednesday night.
The following day, I sang at a memorial concert for a friend who had passed away from breast cancer. There were many artists performing at the event at The Celebrity Center Pavillion in Hollywood, including Stevie Wonder.
I sang "Things Ain't Like They Used To Be," the song I recorded with Niacin last year. The band members included Billy Sheehan and John Novello (whose late wife, Gloria Rusch, and Stevie's vocal coach, was being remembered). It was a beautiful, spiritual evening, and the audience were really receptive. After performing our song, we were given a standing ovation, and I noticed Stevie was on his feet clapping and joining in.
After our performance, Stevie sang "Overjoyed," "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life," and "I Just Called To Say I Love You." He was a real close friend of Gloria's, and it was really moving. I was overcome with emotion the whole evening. I believe moments like these are life-changing ones.
I was especially touched by my friend John Novello, who played keyboards like a god and was truly an inspiration to me in the way he held himself together. He is my new hero. God bless you, John. Gloria had heard a song that John and I were writing last year, and she started to write some words, but never finished them. John asked me if I would finish them in honor of his wife, and I, of course, said yes.
When I have received the photos of the evening, I will let you all capture the moment with us.
I am really tired. I am on a break at the moment. I will be in New York with Pat Thrall May 11 to 18. Promo turned out great in Europe. All the reviews on "Return Of Crystal Karma" have been incredible. The best so far of any CD I've released.

"Hi everyone! There are lots of things going on at the
moment. I will be in Florida next week. The following week, I will be
in Italy recording with guitarist Dario Mollo. I feel it is extremely
necessary to express myself in a format which gives me "life,"
and that is through making music. Dario sent me some demos, and I liked
what I heard. Once again, I will be giving a new "twist" working
with another artist. I have written the songs and will record them 14-17
April in Italy. I will then stay in Europe and do promotion. I am scheduled
to shoot a video in Los Angeles on 29-30 of April. We are lining up
some live shows for the summer; I will keep you posted on this matter.
R.O.C.K will be released June 21. Hughes/Thrall is a work in process.
Hans and myself are writing the continuation of the Funk/Soul/Jazz trip,
which is OBVIOUSLY where I will find myself on my musical voyage. There
is music being made, and I'm swimming downstream, heading for universal
love!!!
Be good to yourselves,

love and support. This coming year, will be a busy
one. I intend to be making as much music as possible,
and playing more shows than ever before. Lots of love
to all of you.
PS The next GH rock CD will be in the stores in May. I will give you more juice on my schedule in a couple of weeks.
PPS I hope you like Incense & Peaches. It is a fun CD."
