The Dead Daisies featuring Glenn Hughes have released “The Lockdown Sessions EP“, a semi-acoustic, stripped back album, spawned from a real sense of wanting to ‘keep the music alive‘ during these challenging times.
As Glenn has said for decades:
Love is the answer and Music is the healer.
Songs featured include ‘Unspoken’, ‘Righteous Days’ and ’30 Days In The Hole’ (Humble Pie cover) from their upcoming (January 2021 via SPV) debut album, “Holy Ground“, plus an unplugged classic song, ‘Fortunate Son’ featuring Deen Castronovo on lead vocals.
David Lowy explains:
As soon as it had become clear that our tour and album release would have to be postponed until 2021, we recorded these acoustic tracks with our fans in mind. ‘The Lockdown Sessions’ is our way to stay in touch with everyone despite the global restrictions.

UNSPOKEN is the first powerhouse single to hit the digital airwaves from THE DEAD DAISIES highly anticipated finished album featuring GLENN HUGHES on lead vocals and bass guitar.
Haunting and mysterious, written during the bands first studio session last Summer, Glenn recalls:
I wrote the chorus while driving into Hollywood. I pulled over, turned on my iPhone and recorded the chorus, I transported myself back to 1972, just for a moment. The intro, is the theme of the song, It’s bombastic, primeval and haunting. This song is about letting go, getting past the fear, and to breathe again.
The song sets the atmosphere for the first taste of the forthcoming album, HOLY GROUND, which we can tell you ROCKS like never before! Glenn, Doug, David and Deen bring the Daisies signature sound, set with a retro style approach to the new music.
The Dead Daisies featuring GLENN HUGHES 2020 Global Tour will kick off in style with a massive European Summer jaunt — the first string of dates being a combination of arena and amphitheater shows with both JUDAS PRIEST & FOREIGNER, performing at some of the most famous and coveted festivals such as Graspop in Belgium and Hellfest in France as well as an exciting array of headline performances; kicking it off with a small, sweaty club in Essen, Germany, taking it back to basics for an essential dose of undiluted rock for the first-ever show with this new lineup!
The upcoming, yet-untitled album, recorded by Producer, Ben Grosse, at La Fabrique Studio in the South of France is slated for a late-May release to coincide with the Tour.

Rock’n’Roll is a trip, not a destination… we all know how the saying goes! To that end, 2020 will see The Dead Daisies continue their journey with new music, performances and adventures.
The Dead Daisies have gone from strength to strength since the release of their self-titled album in 2013. They have released four studio, one live and one covers album to a growing army of fans worldwide and are praised by the global media in an era where Rock has been declared dead time and time again.
The band’s DNA includes an amazing collective of players that includes John Corabi, Marco Mendoza, Richard Fortus, Dizzy Reed, Frank Ferrer, Darryl Jones, Tommy Clufetos, Charley Drayton and Jon Stevens amongst others. They’ve also shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Rock including Kiss, Guns N’ Roses, Scorpions, Aerosmith, Bad Company, Whitesnake, ZZ Top and the Hollywood Vampires.
The Daisies have started their next chapter welcoming new member Glenn Hughes. Also known as “The Voice Of Rock“, Glenn has taken over lead vocals and bass guitar, joining guitarists Doug Aldrich, David Lowy and drummer Deen Castronovo.
The chemistry is undeniable with a new album recorded by Producer Ben Grosse at La Fabrique Studio in the South of France with the band boasting: “The best is yet to come”.
With the addition of Glenn Hughes, The Daisies supercharge their front line through his rock solid bass grooves and unmatched vocal intensity. As all fans know, the man is a true original, inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame, with a rich history of music that features heavy weights like Deep Purple and Black Country Communion as well as a successful solo career. One might say: “They don’t build rockers like him anymore”.
Followers can expect more High-Voltage Rock songs, indomitable grooves and spell-binding lyrics, all the ingredients that have made this music so timeless, out-living trends of the modern day. The sound of The Dead Daisies is firmly rooted in the Hard Rock way of life we all love but as a living, breathing rock band, they are constantly evolving & bringing new dynamics to a classic style.
The band have conducted multiple headline tours throughout Europe, Japan, South & North America and conquered some of the worlds most prestigious festivals such as Download, Wacken, Graspop, Sweden Rock as well as Woodstock Poland, where they played the notable Concert for Peace with a 60-piece orchestra in front of over 300,000 people in 2017. Significantly, they were the first American Rock band welcomed back to Cuba after the embargo was lifted in 2015.
It’s the uplifting experience of a real live show that makes Rock music so encompassing and where The Dead Daisies always deliver. Their concerts are known for creating a special connection between the players and their audience, giving life to each other, singing, screaming and relishing in the moment!!!
The Dead Daisies are pushing forward, giving energy and taking chances to ensure that every person who experiences them has no doubt that Rock is Indeed Alive & Well and here to stay. So turn it up, come to a show, enjoy the ride & ROCK with us.

Vocalist/bass guitarist/songwriter Glenn Hughes is a true original. No other rock musician has carved such a distinctive style blending the finest elements of hard rock, soul and funk. That astonishing voice is Hughes’ calling card. He’s known as a singer’s singer. Stevie Wonder once called Hughes his favorite white singer.
Hughes, a native of Cannock, England, absorbed all kinds of influences, including early British hard rock, the Beatles and, most importantly, American soul and R&B. The sleek Motown sound from Detroit and the gritty Stax/Volt sound from Memphis left their mark on him.
The first important band Hughes was a member of that achieved notable success was Trapeze. The band’s early ’70s albums included Medusa, Trapeze and You Are The Music… We’re Just The Band.
In 1973, Hughes joined Deep Purple. The trailblazing hard-rock legends had just weathered the departure of vocalist Ian Gillan and bass guitarist Roger Glover, but guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, keyboardist Jon Lord and drummer Ian Paice continued with the addition of Hughes and David Coverdale.
Since 1992, Hughes has toured extensively in Europe, Japan and South America in support of solo albums, but more recently has been involved with award winning supergroups’, Black Country Communion with guitar star Joe Bonamassa, keyboard player Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater) and drummer Jason Bonham, son of the late Led Zeppelin legend John Bonham and California Breed, who also featured both Hughes and drummer Jason Bonham.
In between his hectic schedule, Hughes also found time to publish a book, “Glenn Hughes : The Autobiography – From Deep Purple To Black Country Communion“, the Number 1 best seller is available in both hard and soft cover editions from all good retailers.
So make no mistake. The Voice of Rock never left the building.
