GLENN HUGHES Forced To Cancel UK/European Tour

GLENN HUGHES FORCED TO CANCEL UK/EUROPEAN TOUR AFTER CO-HEADLINER LIVING COLOUR PULLS OUT AND BOOKS A CONFLICTING RUN FOR THE SAME DATES

Promoters Left With No Choice But To Refund All Tickets For Previously Announced Dates

Hughes’ New Solo Album Resonate Scheduled For Release On November 4th Via Frontiers Music SRL

Glenn Hughes is forced to cancel his UK/European tour today after the co-headliner Living Colour booked a conflicting support slot on Alter Bridge‘s European tour. New management for Living Colour knowingly booked them onto the Alter Bridge tour although they were already confirmed for the Glenn Hughes co-headline tour, which had been on sale since April. Alter Bridge and Glenn Hughes have been long-time friends and neither Alter Bridge, their management and agents or even Living Colour‘s agent TKO were aware that this was taking place.

Glenn Hughes was planning on touring Europe in support of his upcoming solo album, Resonate. When word got to promoters that Living Colour were no longer planning to perform on the co-headline dates, they were forced to refund all tickets. All ticket holders of Glenn Hughes‘ UK/European tour will be offered refunds at the point of purchase and can call the venues for more information.

“I am saddened and disappointed that I will not be able to perform for my UK and European fans as I had originally intended. When I partnered with Living Colour to do this tour, I thought we would be able to make something special happen at these shows. Unfortunately, an undermining manager got involved and in turn ruined what would have been an amazing tour. I can’t wait to get back to the UK and Europe to bring the new songs of Resonate to my fans overseas,” explains Glenn Hughes.

Glenn Hughes‘ new solo album, Resonate, has been receiving critical acclaim from media and fans alike. The album will be available in two configurations: regular cd and deluxe edition including one bonus track and DVD. The Deluxe Edition includes the bonus track “Nothing’s The Same”, plus a bonus DVD disc featuring the “Making of” the album documentary – “Heavy” (song video), and “Long Time Gone” (song video). A vinyl release will be made available via the Frontiers’ label partners Soulfood Music. The album is available for pre-order via Amazon (http://radi.al/ResonateAmazon), iTunes (http://radi.al/ResonateiTunes) and Google Play (http://radi.al/ResonateGooglePlay). The single “Heavy” is also available on Spotify at http://radi.al/ResonateSpotify with the full album streaming on release date. Resonate was produced by Glenn Hughes & Soren Andersen.

Glenn Hughes, the legendary “Voice Of Rock,” has been a fixture in the music industry for over 35 years. In that time, he has become one of the most-respected and influential performers through his work in Trapeze, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Black Country Communion as well as his solo career.

Glenn Hughes - UK/EUROPE Tour 2016

GLENN HUGHES was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Mark III line up of DEEP PURPLE. He spent key years of his career as the beloved bassist and vocalist of the group, recording on the classic albums: Burn, Stormbringer, and Come Taste The Band. Hughes and other members of DEEP PURPLE were in attendance to receive the honor. The ceremony was recorded for television and will receive it’s broadcast premiere via HBO on Saturday, April 30th, 2016.

Vocalist/bass guitarist/songwriter GLENN HUGHES is a true original. No other rock musician has carved such a distinctive style blending the finest elements of hard rock, soul and funk. Stevie Wonder once called Hughes his favorite white singer. The first important band Hughes was a member of that achieved notable success was TRAPEZE. In 1973, Hughes joined DEEP PURPLE. The trailblazing hard-rock legends had just weathered the departure of vocalist Ian Gillan and bass guitarist Roger Glover, but guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, keyboardist Jon Lord and drummer Ian Paice continued with the addition of Hughes and David Coverdale. Since 1992, Hughes has toured extensively in Europe, Japan and South America in support of solo albums, but more recently has been involved with award winning supergroups’, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION with guitar star Joe Bonamassa, keyboard player Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater) and drummer Jason Bonham, son of the late Led Zeppelin legend John Bonham and CALIFORNIA BREED, who also featured both Hughes and drummer Jason Bonham.

Hughes’ comments:

My Town” can kind of mean something for everybody. I just feel really comfortable singing that song about where I live. Los Angeles is a make or break city. It’s a town that can kill you. Like New York, you have to be ready to live on the streets and be a part of the streets. But I have been living here most of my life and this is my town.

Glenn Hughes New Album RESONATE Set For Release November 2016

Glenn Hughes is pleased to announce the title of his new solo album, “RESONATE“, which is scheduled for release on October 28th, 2016 in Japan via Ward Records and November 4th, 2016 in Rest of World via Frontiers Records.

Glenn Hughes - Resonate

My new album RESONATE will be available in November. The first kind of a complete Glenn album… it is a ROCK album for ROCK fans & it’s… HEAVY.

It’s my first solo album in 8 years. Everybody needs to know that this is absolutely a return to rock music as a solo artist for me. My work is very varied. Groovy, funky, soulful, although the genre has always been rock. But this album is probably THE heaviest record I’ve done in at least 25 years. It’s dense. It’s dark. There’s some aggression on this record. Every bloody track is begging to be played live.

Joining him on the album are his guitarist and album co-producer from Denmark, Søren Andersen, Swedish drummer, Pontus Engborg, and Australian keyboard player, Lachlan “Lachy” Doley. Making a guest appearance on drums for 2 songs is Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers).

SoundExchange Influencers Series at the Rock Hall : Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple) and Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains)

Alice in Chains guitarist, Jerry Cantrell and former Deep Purple bassist Glenn Hughes will take part in the next edition of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s SoundExchange Influencers Series. The event will take place June 2nd, 2016 in the Cleveland museum’s Foster Theater. Visit RockHall.com for ticket info.

The Rock Hall’s Influencers series “brings music legends and stars together to demonstrate the impact that one artist or band’s music has on future generations”, as well as providing a forum to address issues currently facing our music legends, namely, fair pay and recognition for all sound recordings across all mediums and all eras of music.

Glenn Hughes was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Deep Purple earlier this year and will headline his own shows in the USA and South America, in addition to a co-headline tour of Europe later in the year with Grammy award winning Rock band from New York, Living Colour.

Hughes joined hard-rock legends Deep Purple in 1973 following the departure of vocalist Ian Gillan and bass guitarist Roger Glover. The following year saw the release of Burn (featuring David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes on vocals), which has since been re-released on its 30th anniversary. This stunning album rejuvenated the band and stands tall among Deep Purple classics.

In the halcyon days, Purple headlined at the famous California Jam in 1974 in front of quarter of a million people. After world tours via Purple’s own jet plane, “The Starship” and two more studio albums, (the Hughes influenced Stormbringer and Come Taste the Band), Deep Purple finally split in 1976. In 2016, Deep Purple (Ritchie Blackmore, David Coverdale, Rod Evans, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Glenn Hughes, Jon Lord, Ian Paice) was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich. In addition to his touring schedule, Glenn Hughes is currently preparing a new solo album, and recently announced the return of Black Country Communion (featuring Joe Bonamassa, Jason Bonham and Derek Sherinian).

Meanwhile, this Summer, Jerry Cantrell and Alice in Chains will be opening for Guns N’ Roses on the reunited rockers’ Not in This Lifetime tour. They’ll also embark on a headlining tour of their own.

Cantrell is most recognized as the lead guitarist, songwriter and vocalist for mega-platinum-selling rock band Alice in Chains. The band’s most recent release was the Grammy nominated album The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, which entered Billboard’s Top 200 at No. 2 and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Albums Chart. Rolling Stone gave the record three stars, as did USA Today, who praised it as an album of “undeniable power.” Spin called it “an assured, diverse, heated record with galvanized hooks,” Pitchfork said it’s “as insistent as [landmark album] Dirt,” and the Seattle Times wrote, “Jerry Cantrell, William DuVall, Mike Inez and Sean Kinney continue to defy expectations” and that “Alice In Chains is better than ever.”

Over the course of their remarkable career, Alice in Chains has garnered multiple Grammy nominations, sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and amassed a diehard international fanbase whose members number in the millions. They remain one of the most successful and influential American rock bands of all time.
