Glenn Hughes will join a host of fellow musicians to celebrate the life of good friend and fellow Deep Purple MK III / MK IV member, the late Jon Lord, at the The Sunflower Jam charity’s event, ‘Celebrating Jon Lord‘, to be held at The Royal Albert Hall in London, UK on Friday, April 4th, 2014.
Glenn states: “Jon and I were very close at the end of his life. I’m so glad to announce that I will perform at Jon’s tribute show in London at The Royal Albert Hall. My manager and I have been working with Jon’s manager, Tarquin and Jacky Paice and Vicky, Jon’s wife, so that I could clear my schedule to appear ~ to thank Jon and our MK 3 & 4 fans for their love… so glad to announce this to you.
I will play with Paicey and the guys for Jon at the Royal Albert Hall. I had to move some things around to make it happen. When Jon joined me onstage at the O2 / Childline show in ’09 / the hairs on my arms were raised… the greatest rock Hammond player of the 20th/21st century!”
Other performers on the bill for the evening of celebration include Paul Weller, Bruce Dickinson, Rick Wakeman, Alfie Boe, Joe Brown, The Orion Orchestra conducted by Paul Mann and many, many more.
