If you are a Glenn Hughes or a Deep Purple fan of the Coverdale/Hughes era you should get this CD. Although I thought Deep Purple took a step back when Ian Gillian and Roger Glover left Deep Purple and David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes joined the band they made some great songs. This CD in my opinion captures Glenn Hughes at his best singing some of the best Deep Purple and his own songs live in concert. His voice is in top notch form and the sound is great for a live recording. If the rock and roll Gelnn Hughes is what you like here it is in all it's glory. At times I can give or take some of his solo stuff but this is kick [...] all the way. Listen to it loud and enjoy. This CD has taken up residence in my car player.Much to my kids' disgust! The ex purple tracks "Burn", "Stormbringer", "Lady Double Dealer", "Gettin' Tighter" make me wonder WHO was the voice of DP. But when you mix in the likes of "Into the Void" and "Coast to Coast". You have one unbelievable album. Recorded over two nights in 1994, makes you wonder if their are any more tracks in the archive somewhere? (Just a whisper: Soulfully Live in the City of Angels is better!) Sin embargo, el estilo funk-jazz de Glenn Hughes no es mi fuerte. Asi que al desbandarse el grupo en 1976 fué él al único al que no le seguí la pista. Ahora, 25 años después escucho este disco y realmente me ha impactado. Desde los primeros momentos del CD sentí un escalofrío por todo mi cuerpo, ese tipo de escalofríos que solo te dán cuando recuerdas algo muy tuyo, muy intenso. Cada vez que escuchaba los viejos temas de Deep Purple volvía esa sensación y el gusto de escuchar a un Glenn Hughes maduro, fuerte, enérgico, seguro de sí mismo y con un excelente grupo de músicos acompañandolo. Disfruté sobre todo la línea Hard Rock que maneja ahora, aunque el estilo funky que lo caracteriza también fue de mi agrado. Este CD es ahora uno de mis favoritos. Lo recomiendo ampliamente y más para los fans de Deep Purple y de Glenn Hughes. Ojalá que Glenn siga activo y "limpio" y que continúe así de fuerte como lo encontré en este CD. One thing that is always true abou Glenn is his remarkable rane as a singer and his feel for the vibe of the music. This album is a true example of that range and vibe. The energy and flow of the album along with the song selection (and performance)makes it my pick for album of the year. No matter if the boy can sing the blues or sing Stevie Wonder remakes no singer takes you into the void the way Glenn does.
