Hard Rock May 13, 2009 Dude (Mid-Country) I really want to say that this is my favorite Glenn Hughes album, but I think that I have to give that to "Soul Mover" even though I listen to "Addiction" far more. This is the darkest album that Glenn has put out, being filled with all the dark emotions of man, such as anger, frustration, heart ache, and the anguished separation from an addiction. This album is an excellent reading of all of those. I've been there and I think that is the attraction of this album to me.
It is a straight ahead hard rock album, and to me this is really where Glenn excels. He may think that it is in the Soul/Funk arena, but I know that it is here. There is no fancy vocals in this one, and no funk to be found. The album has a very nice flow to it, and if Glenn has ever come close to making a concept album this is it. The album is co-produced by Marc Bonnilla and you can really see his touch on the album. It appears as if he and Glenn come from the very same place and in perfect sync on this one.
Addiction, by Glenn Hughes April 26, 2009 Jim Rutta The CD was in perfect condition, and the product was exactly as advertised by the seller. I am completely satisfied with this purchase, and rate the transaction as excellent.
It is growing on me June 1, 2008 Nick83 I just got this album about a week ago. Upon first listen, I was a little disappointed, and it didn't do much for me. Now, it is growing on me, and I am starting to like almost all of the tracks, and there are some fine moments on here. I wouldn't recommend this as the first GH album to get though.
Moving April 16, 2008 G. Keller (Oklahoma) I have followed Glenn since the first Trapeze album and this one moves me. Being that Glenn is a recovered drug user and he tells his story in these songs makes the recording special. Having said that, listen to the songs and be moved.
With Glenn, Heavier is Better January 12, 2008 Chris (Kalamazoo, MI) This is my favorite of Glenn's solo albums. It's the most agressive. It's not the kind of album I listen to over and over, but it's great to play once in a while. Holds my attention all the way through, unlike a couple of his other albums.
