Icon33 "Dealer" live Miami 76

Hi everyone!

Here's the live version of "Dealer" about which we were talking about in the chat on Wednesday.

It was recorded in Miami 1976, a real rarity.

Hope you like it!

Peace, Achim

As far as I know there is a kind of remastered "In Deep Grief" out there. Stunning performance by the whole band.

Thumbs up Every cut..played live!

"Come Taste The Band" had the distinction of being the only DP album that had ALL of its cuts played live on the following tour. A few songs went in and out of the set..but compare this to something like "Who Do We Think We Are" which only had, if you can believe this, "Mary Long" the only song off it played on the 1973 tour.

"I Need Love" and "Drifter" were played in Japan, and "Dealer" got its first performances in the States. "Comin' Home" did make it into several shows and the rest stayed in the set from Australia to Liverpool I believe..

I do remember reading an interview with Simon Robinson where he relates that several soundboard tapes from the final tour exist, including Liverpool, but the tape owners want far too much money for them for EMI to even consider putting them out.

Of course they played it at several occasions! Capt.Midnight is absolutely right in that. I dont know why you always say "Coming Home" was never played....it is featured on a couple bootlegs also. I will research on that topic and hope to give you some more informations soon, my friend.

Wink Well..they ALMOST got it...

As detailed in the liner notes to "On The Wings Of A Russian Foxbat", the King Biscuit recording of the Springfield MA show in January 1976 did include "Comin' Home"..but an incomplete performance. Various technical problems with the band's peformance and cockups with the recording process itself led KB to have another crack at getting a Purple show on tape which, of course, resulted in the Long Beach concert being recorded for posterity.

The set list was actually fairly fluid throughout the tour in regards to the new material being performed. Some songs came and went, the rest stayed. I am sure there is a really hot performance from that tour out there....
