The famous German newspaper "Stuttgarter Zeitung" published this interview yesterday (which starts after a short commercial):

A review in Denmark keeps it short but very good when you look at the stars:

http://gaffa.dk/anmeldelse/65565

They seem to be very critical when you look at the few stars for other albums.

5 stars is excellent... did you notice... 6 stars from the readers...

Yes, they gave other albums just 3 stars average and I didn't see another new album with 5 stars, so that's very good!

I saw the 6 stars of the readers as well but up to now it was only one reader

Still, I think this album is a real blast, it's just having its second run over my headphones. It's definitely more a Glenn album than BCC 1 and 2, the title song is so epic, it was sending shivers down the spine straight away. Awesome! The slow acoustic parts are reminding me a bit of "Days of Avalon" but then it gets really heavy and you also have orchestral tunes with strings, horns and flutes, it just has it all. It's a blast! Now I understand why Glenn was insisting to call the album "Afterglow" (up to now I thought "III" would have been okay as well but listening to this song changed my mind). Gotta give it a few more listenings and see which will be my favs beside Afterglow...
Ouugh..."The Circle" is just playing again...heavy...dark...touching...love it as well!

Guido Tartarotti of Austria's daily 'Kurier' newspaper who had already reviewed 'BCC' & '2' has now also posted a short review of 'Afterglow'.

From today's edition, the text translates:

Quote:
The third album of this supergroup is probably their least inspiring yet and offers the same formula as the first two: sleek Seventies-Rock.

Image attached.

Not too favourable, but at least he has given it 3 out of 5 points.

Ran out this morning and purchased my copy from Best Buy....it's their MOST commercial album of the three and I'm LOVING IT!!! My fave tracks are: This Is Your Time, Confessor, Cry Freedom and Afterglow!! Confessor and Cry Freedom are most reminiscent of DP Mk.III and Afterglow has that Free 'vibe' all throughout the song!!! THEIR BEST WORK TO DATE!!!

It's amazing how everyone hears things differently. I think that commercial doesn't fit here but maybe on some of the tracks it does after some spins. What I really love is the non commercial one's such as The Circle and The Giver. That is THE stuff that made old school hard rock so great!! Great that you are lovin it though! Over at JB's site there is a lot of negativity from some and it seems most of it is a case of listening it once or twice and deciding its no good and I think that is because it's not instantly accessible like the first one. It isn't but it is deeper and it takes more spins to "get it". I liked it a lot the first time but it gets better and better man!

Going to post my review soon if not tonight. Been a crazy day with the storm but all is well with us. We didn't lose power and our shore house sustained minor damage. Some other shore communities such as Seaside Heights (Jersey Shore) were devastated. Houses were leveled and the amusement pier collapsed into the ocean and they showed a mangled roller coaster with the waves crashing all over it. Surreal stuff.

They have something special in their hands here. How can you not see where it goes? I think it would be the biggest thing in a long long time given the proper attention! I've never been so sure of anything.

Joe, your solo thing is going very well no doubt. Taking a few months away would NOT adversely affect it in any way. Taking a few months with this band just might change your life forever in a HUGE way. And you'll still have that solo career going stronger than ever.

From your mouth to Joe's ears!

Good to hear that you are ok and thanks for keeping us updated
The news especially from NY are horrible. I think mother nature is giving us back what we've been doing to it over a too long period.

Thanks for the kind words Lioness. We made out just fine. My thoughts and prayers to those that didn't do so well.

The central to northern Jersey shore as well as NYC did not do so well. I don't know whether it has a thing to do with anything anyone did or not. I think that the earth is in a state of perpetual change and we are just living through that now. We had a pretty long period of really nothing to speak about weather wise. The times, they are a changing.

Judging by the Planet Rock special, this album for me has an instant appeal. The opener, Big Train, is GREAT!!! The train in question just might be the same funkrockymidnightbluish steam engine that I heard r-r-r-rooollling on the GH Soul Mover tour a few years ago... Unstoppable.
