Icon27 1974 Ritchie Blackmore interview

Gibson have recently posted a rare audio interview conducted by Steve Rosen, with Ritchie Blackmore during the 1974 'Burn' tour of the USA.

Talking about past Purple albums, as well as the then new one, "Burn", plus Cream, Jeff Beck and more!

You can listen-in and/or download the 3 different audio segments

Thanks David for putting up that photo of the "starship" 707. Never saw that view of it with the added graphics. I'm a big aviation buff, so that was cool to see.

For the members of Deep Purple and their roadies, it was more about watching X-rated movies on the high-tech video monitor and using the Starship to entice groupies. ”The girls would get on the plane and fly to wherever the next show was,” recalls Bruce Payne, the group’s manager. ”Fathers two states over were calling the cops.”
