Back from London and High Voltage!
Heaven and Hell's set on Saturday was excellent.
RJD was omnipresent, be it on the video walls, or in every single announcement from the stage.
After the stage had been set up - mind you, this was a big set-up for a festival - the H&H crew hugged, knowing this was the last time they had gotten everything ready to go for this show. Magic.
Iommi, Butler and Appice reminded the crowd instantly that this is the band that invented Heavy Metal. Tony Iommi is the riffmaster. He invented the Heavy metal guitar riff. Full stop.
Jorn Lande was technically very good, excellent performance actually, but his personality doesn't match any of the other musicians on stage - yet.
Glenn seemed to be a bit nervous at the start, and it took him a couple of minutes to get used to the role as a solo singer again, but then he never stopped to amaze the crowd with his performance.
When Glenn went over to Geezer Butler during one of Iommi's solos and put his hand on Butler's shoulder, you could see GB's sigh of relief, that Glenn was there with them in what appeared to be very emotional show. Magic. Wendy Dio fought the tears. Everybody did.
Looking forward to watching this on DVD!
Good to see Mikey, Jerome and Nath again! Pity we couldn't chat any longer - see you in September though!
And before I forget... I posted some pics in the
Members Gallery - Enjoy!
Cheers,
Christian
