Icon47 DVD "Live in Wolverhampton" in stores 2010

The DVD, "Live in Wolverhampton (Official Bootleg) DVD", is now available in extremely limited quantity from 'glennhughes.com'. The DVD will also be available to purchase from a variety of high street shops as well as online outlets in late December/the early part of January 2010, but 'glennhughes.com' has secured a limited quantity of discs, prior to them hitting the retail shelves! So hurry, if you want to be one of the first to own this limited run of PAL only DVD's!!

Regular purchase price of the DVD is USD$18.75, but registered owners of an Alive Drive, are entitled to a 20% discount, bringing the purchase price of the DVD down to USD$15.00. However, this Alive Drive owner discount offer is not open ended - so do hurry if you are interested in taking advantage of this 20% discount offer.

They'll just be a PAL edition, no NTSC. You can play the disc on your computer - not the same as your TV I know, but it is what it is.

Let's just say, triple digits

Not too worry, more will arrive shortly and still beat retail availability. But by year's end that'll be it from the web site - after that, you'll need to order from a retailer of your choice.

Meantime, the order page has been adjusted, so your order can still be placed.

Yes, it will play in any UK based DVD player, just not standard USA based DVD players.

Quote:
WHAT IS NTSC AND PAL STANDARD?

Although VHS video format is the same throughout the World, the video standard or electronic signal that is recorded on the cassette varies from country to country. The two most common video standards used are NTSC and PAL.

NTSC is the video system or standard used in North America and most of South America. In NTSC, 30 frames are transmitted each second. Each frame is made up of 525 individual scan lines.

PAL is the predominant video system or standard mostly used outside of North & South America. In PAL, 25 frames are transmitted each second. Each frame is made up of 625 individual scan lines.

Icon34 what's goin' on here

Yep, ordered mine too. Wonder why its only been sold FROM the States and then in PAL for us UK guys? Can't wait or take the chance it'll be available nearer to home - tho $6.50p&p is bit much, the DVD is quite cheap. Just over 13 all in - I'd pay that any day.

Wonder if the missing tracks from the first night will appear?

Happy Christmas to me, again

Remember, it's not strictly a web site exclusive, it's just we have a batch of discs that have been released prior to them reaching retail outlets. So, come later this month or early in January, you'll be able to buy the DVD from the high street or your favourite online outlet.

You just have an opportunity now, to get one a little earlier than most, that's all

Someone asked if the audio was in 5.1 Surround Sound - no, it's 2.0 Dolby Stereo - but I have to tell you, it won't be noticed at all. On my 5.1 system, everything sounds where it should be Center, left, right (front & rear), plus sub-woofer lit up the whole time Perfection

You actually have PayPal/USPS to thank for that! Unfortunately, it's only do-able for packages going to the USA, so for those destined for overseas, currently there is no tracking without further charges being incurred. Hopefully at some point in the future that will change!

Due to overwhelming demand, the limited supply of the DVD, the web site managed to secure ahead of retail is now:

SOLD OUT

You can order it again when it reaches the retail outlet of your choice in January 2010

Meantime, for those lucky enough to get their orders in, a good portion have been mailed out already, with the rest going out later this week, so with any luck, you should see it well before Christmas

For those outside of the USA, although the same holds true for domestic shipments too, I just wanted to update you regarding mailings - all have been sent out, and if you haven't received your order yet, you can expect it shortly, hopefully before Christmas, but that will really depend on the various postal services involved.

For those in the USA; I've been pushing for an NTSC version of the DVD. Based on pre-sales (sales prior to reaching retail in 2010), it's now looking hopeful, but nothing confirmed just quite yet. Will obviously let you know if and when anything changes on that front.

Even when one or both versions reach retail early next year, there will be a new limited supply available via here at the web site So you'll have a choice where you get it from
