Icon49 Beck doing Bolin

Here's Jeff Beck playing Billy Cobham's STRATUS on a 2006 festival in Japan.

Nice to hear Beck doing all the bolin parts.

In a way it is a great tribute to Tommy Bolin

Indeed it is true. That performance is on You Tube.
Sorry, I don't have the link, but it's easy enough to find.

Also from the same Idol episode,which was their big charity show from a couple of weeks ago, a performance by Celine Dion with some kind of holagram, video trickery Elvis

I absolutely LOVE American Idol though this year's was a bit slow on the uptake. Only two real singers on there this time around - Lakisha and Melinda. Lakisha sang Jennifer Holliday's 'And I Ain't Tellin' You' at the beginning of the series and blew my socks off.

I watch it on Friday evenings but found out that she's out this week ...

I'll borrow the axe Grace, but it will be blunt by the time I'm finished with Simon Cowell. Tosser!

Oh, and to keep it related to Glenn ... didn't Glenn write a song for Kelly Clarkson after Idol????

I'll stand up in support of Chip

I can report that while we were at his house it was our wives that watched Idol while we made comments about how bad the whole thing was
We had to console ourselves with another "cool one" and go chill in the Trapezium

Icon49 And who determined that those "judges" have brains?

Todd - Thanks for the back-up vote. 'Ya got couth!

Shirl - I'll forgive you because you're a wonderful person,
perfect in every way, except for this one tragic flaw.

This pathetic attempt by you, to blame your lovely wives,
as the viewers of American Idol, deserves severe retaliation =

I don't know if back in the 1970's you got "The Gong Show"
in the UK, but at least the judges back then tried to be funny,
when they threw somebody off the show. There has to be
a better way than "AI", for new talent to be showcased on TV.

While channel surfing lately, I've caught a few minutes of Idol,
and the key word for those judges is = CRUEL.
I wouldn't ask those 3 jerks to judge a new pair of socks.
Besides, they probably thought C _ _ _ _ _ D_ _ _ was great
I rest my case.

PS......Before "The Thread Police" show up:
A cassette tape of Jeff Beck's totally instrumental "Blow by Blow"
stays in my car's front seat storage for easy access, at all times........

GH THREAD ~~~~>......along with my GH "travelin" music.

Thanks Wolfy for coming to my defense I thought I was going to be all alone in this situation. Yes, I immediately go into another room in the house the two nights AI is on.

Just to set the record straight even further.....a co-worker of mine told me about Jeff Beck playing with Kelly Clarkson, I didn't see it live. The C----- D--- reference was solely for any Elvis fans out there C----- D--- is on my long list of people that I wish would get hurled off the planet.

I hope this re-establishes my street cred

... we talking about the same Shirl here?

You're ALL right of course. And yes, a lot of these 'judges' are indeed tossers! (I have a better word but I'd like to maintain my status as CGHP).

... DID Glenn write a song for Kelly post AI? (just realised ... AI ... artificial intelligence ).

Icon19 All is forgiven......

OK, everybody, call off the cops.

No further need to join the Witness Protection Program.

Besides, I'm saving my axes for the NY record company executives.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But I seriously hate that show because..........IT'S SO MEAN
