I know that this topic has been tossed around a bit, but I am wondering....Are the master tapes for the first 3 Trapeze albums really missing? If so, what were the source tapes used when Decca put the CD's out in the mid 90's?
This question came back to my mind after reading the recent interview with The Moody Blues in a recent issue of Classic Rock. Justin Hayward remarks how Deram/Decca were fastidious about how they treated their tape archive. He talks about the recent expanded Moodies repackage campaign and how Decca made an exact copy of each master that was never used...he also talks about how Decca had a division that made stereo sound systems which meant that the albums were beautifully mixed for that medium....
Threshold was the Moodies custom label to which Trapeze was signed....seems to me that Trapeze's recorded works would have gotten the same treatment.
So what's the deal, Neal??? Does anyone out there know for sure?
