Arrow A request from Mel Galley

I met Mel today for a couple of drinks and to give him a couple of cds that Chip very kindly sent over for him.
Last time i met Mel he asked if i had any Trapeze boots from the 1976 USA shows that Glenn did. I didnt, but asked Chip to check the the Trapezium. Chip sent over the August show from Austin Texas. If anyone has other decent boots from then can you PM me. Thanks.

Chip also had a show from The Blue Onion, Norman, Okla, 1971 with 4 unknown tracks. Mel is gonna listen to this and i'll report back with what they were just in case anyone else has the same show.

Also, who should show up in the pub but Michael Klaube.

Who ? you are asking. Well Micheal is from Germany and was over here to see his sister who has been living and working in the UK for a year. They were in the area and luckily asked in just the right place if anyone knew how to get in touch with Mel. they checked with Mel he said yes, come and meet me too! Michael is a big Trapeze and Glenn fan and was able to join us for a drink and a couple of photos. he also asked some good questions.

Michael is a lurker on here but i told him he MUST properly join when he gets back home next week so look out for him.

Well, it's nice to know that our correspondent out of the Cannock offices of GHPG.net is working hard

I'm very interested in what Mel remembers of these obscure, untitled tracks on the Blue Onion disc.

For our newbies, more info on this show can be found here....

Good work Wolfy !!

I had asked Glenn about the Blue Onion gig a couple of years ago, and one of those he remembers, as being called "Kickin' Down The OK Town Door" - 'OK' in this case, pronounced as Oak in the song, and obviously referring to Oklahoma - OK being the abbreviation for the State.

Thanks and look forward to what Mel remembers of that particular gig.

Also, on welcoming Michael upon his non-lurking debut

Hello There!

this is Michael from Germany, that Michael who was mentioned by wolfysmith (hi!).
Just gettin' back home with a flight that had more than two hours delay.
Now that I'm registered I just wanted to get hooked onto this thread.

So it was a great pleasure for me to meet the legend 'Mel Galley'.
And it was nice to have a talk to wolfysmith, too.

So that was it for the moment.
Bye, folks.

Icon49 Everybody's busy.......

Wolfy: As Chip says, you are a great Cannock news reporter for us.
This should increase your salary to double it's usual amount,
as you are, in addition, the "Classic Rock Magazine" reporter, too

Chip: It must be a really great feeling for you, to be able to
give Mel a copy of a Trapeze performance that he didn't have.
Whoda' thunk it?

Mel: Great to hear that you've met a long-time fan of yours from Germany.
