Icon47 great version of Freedom

a recent find: Baker Gurvitz Army, Musikladen DVD.

Musikladen was a German TV show (the successor to the world famous Beat Club, ran from 1973-...) where bands actually played live (well mostly).

There's a funky rendition of Freedom (here's the GH connection) in their set, sound file attached here.
Nice vocal there by Mr. Snips, and decent guitar work by Adrian Gurvitz. Yes, that's Ginger Baker on the drums.

Now imagine those funky Fender Rhodes and Hammond Organ sounds (courtesy of Peter Lemer) on the/on a Glenn Hughes version, minus Gary Ferguson, plus Chad Smith. Get the picture? hmmm, yeah

Cheers,
Christian

Thanks Christian, yep, that was an excellent version of "Freedom" by BGA. They were the first band to ever cover that song that I can remember. Another great version was done by Paul Rodgers and Steve Lukather on the Los Lobotomys album

Peace,

Jaz
