Icon49 Pat Thrall - Sly & Robbie

...and here is Pat Thrall on the opening track of Sly & Robbie's 1987 scratch/rap/funk album RHYTHM KILLERS.
It's a cover of FIRE (Ohio Players)...Glenn plays it too once in a while.

Pat plays the heavy rock guitar in the background, the solo is probably the other guitarist on the album (Nicky Skopelitis, brought in by Bill Laswell the producer)

added is Glenn's own Your love is alright / It's your thing /Fire from Zaandam 1998

Fire

I love that song. It is very groovy and I heard Sly and Robbie's version when I was at school. Glenn sings it very well too.

...some sad news from earlier this week... Leroy "Sugarfoot" Bonner, frontman for the hit-making funk music band the The Ohio Players, has died. He was 69.

The Ohio Players, known for their brassy dance music, catchy lyrics and flamboyant outfits, topped music charts in the 1970's with hits such as "Love Rollercoaster," "Fire," "Skin Tight" and "Funky Worm."
