Icon17 Four on The Floor for $265!!!

This week on Ebay i put a watch on a vinyl copy of Four on the Floor signed by Glenn.

It started at $9.99

It sold for $264.99

How many GHPG people have a vinyl copy in their collection?
I bet you didnt pay that for it - or did you?

I'm down to 3 copies, all signed by Glenn.

I used to have 4, but just a few weeks ago I gave one to Todd.
I think I need to hit him up for some cash

My first copy I found in an antique store in Mesa, AZ. soon after I moved out here. I don't remember what I paid for it, it wasn't much. The other 3 I found all together in a used record store in Phoenix. I paid $3.75 for each of them

Yeah, and I just sold that copy for $264.99, LOL! (Just kidding.) Boy, listen to that guy..."I'm DOWN to 3 copies..."

By the way, thanks for that little present...at this rate, I'll be able to send my kids to college on the Glenn Hughes College Pension fund, lol.

Four On The Floor for $265.00

I picked up a promo copy when it was first released for $2.00!!! I had read somewhere that Glenn was on the album even though he wasn't credited on the cover. As soon as I put it on the turntable, I knew!!!!!

I did bid on it for someone else, but was staggered to see how much it finally sold for

interesting bidding history

hmmmm
This item has a very interesting bidding history, and I wouldn't be surprised if this copy turns up again.
Why would the colin...-guy throw in a maximum bid of 265 dollars when the auction stands at just 50? He could never have know that the turner...-guy placed such a high bid in the first place.
That suspiciously sounds like somebody who wanted to have some fun!

The bidding history is here (for another 90 days at least!)

Just my two cents.

Christian

P.S. Shirl, at least you've got a very nice copy of Play Me Out and a couple of boots for the winter...

Icon17 check this one out!!!!

check this one out:

Paternoster LP at eBay

and if you're quick (1 day) take a look at the seller's other items - yep, good guess: more of this caliber....
The slight difference to the 4 On The Floor LP is, that this is definitely serious business!

I got this for the 'someone' who'd mentioned a while back that he / she would like to own it on vinyl (see topic - Play Me Out). I didn't want them to miss out so bought it for them. Thought I'd end up with two copies but the 'someone' came forward ... and it should be arriving in Canada any day now

Cheers, Chris

Well let's just say, Shirl, that I'm glad that
"THE BRADFORD 6" didn't need to be
"saved" during the "Love and Homecoming Tour"
using the GH Bail Money Fund.

Or you guys would still be in jail........

Grace,

Think Dr Denbow was saying they ordered the LP from HMV (a British record shop, similar to Tower Records)

Right, David.

Mom and Dad Hughes ordered the record/LP when it was new.

AND NOW.......they've decided to sell it on E-bay.

This was my feeble attempt at a joke

Seldom I had such a good laugh while reading a thread!
Thanks a lot, my friends!
Todd and Chip....you 2 are just one of a kind
Great to know such people.

keep on selling, Achim

btw: I own "Play Me Out" on vinyl too, bought about 1990 in a regular record store for about 7$.
And for the freak fraction: I still have the "Come taste the band" vinyl record which...hmmm...how do I explain in english....ok, I´ll try....the A-side of the record is mistakenly the B-side of "Stormbringer". B-side (of CTTB) is okay, the right songs from the right album Hope you get me.... Chris...where are you, german speaking GHCP!!! Help me out Wie sagt man "Fehlpressung" auf Englisch??

I'm right here, Achim.

Looks like I still have this thread subscribed, so here's the word you've been looking for: "mispress" (NOT "Miss Press" ), but you may spell it mis-press too. As you wish.
Only recently I bought one, without knowing it, of course. A Huey Lewis Picture Disc 7'' EP that should have had Phil Lynott's "Tattoo" on the flip side. Yet unfortunately both sides play the same two tracks
The funniest I have ever come across still is a copy Prince's "Symbol" CD that played the cheesiest Austrian Popular Folk Music you can imagine Not to mention my surprise.
I brought it back to the shop

Later,
Christian

P.S. Achim - still waiting for your e-mail reply schon vergessen? Stichwort: Demos, etc.
