Navarre is a distributor in the US (see the listing notes) - this person probably has the original discs but no cover and made one up themselves, so although the discs are no doubt legite, I'd steer clear!! It's unusal though, as it appears to include both the audio & DVD in one package.

I saw it yesterday in the local cd store and it does indeed contain the 2 cds and dvd and the price is right......$17.99!!!!!

I posed this question at glennhughes.com (if the dvd was remastered) but no one there apparently cares to answer.....or knows the answer.

My next question.......Where the hell is the improved dvd that was rumoured to be in the works?!!!!

If it is available now, it's not going to indicate that it's "new & improved"...think Frontiers know they f$*ked up, but aren't willing to admit it! Anyway, maybe I'll pick up one of these recent copies and see if it's any different, as that's probably the only way we're going to find out if there are any differences! If later, you see me selling it on eBay, you'll know there's not

Do let us know Tony if it indeed is packaged differently as in the picture above, that would be news to me!! It might show Deadline Music and/or Cleopatra Records somewhere on it for the US market. Again, the only way to tell if it contains the "corrected" DVD edition is to buy it and find out. It's not in-stock at my local Tower at the moment.

It does look likely it's actually legite as even Amazon have it available:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=music

But look forward to hearing what you find out after your visit to Tower.

According to the information about
"Dead Line Records" on the e-bay "page"
residents of Illinois have to pay a state sales tax,
so that would indicate that this would be shipped
from Illinois, right?

So is this a legitimate distributor of Glenn's work?

I didn't think so at first Grace, but after looking into it and with what Tony and Chuck found out, it looks like a legite release for the US market. The DVD is actually considered a "Bonus" Disc vs. a separate product, which is why I assume the cover and packaging are different.

Guess we'll find out all about it when Tony picks up a copy later today

I picked up my copy today at Tower. It seems the obvious out of sync areas have been fixed on the DVD. My original copy is packed away at the moment, so I can't do a side by side comparison. I went directly to the beginning of Medusa to check. I remember that being the first time I noticed the out of sync problem on the original.

Hopefully Tony G can provide some info after comparing it to the original.

Everything seems to be the same except for the cover. The booklet, artwork on the discs themselves are the same as before.

Cleopatra Records

I do remember seeing the SLITCOA DVD being listed in the "Upcoming Releases" section in an issue of Ice Magazine several months back....a late March date was what I remember. My subscription has since run out and I need to renew it...put that on my list!

Two of the Trapeze CD's that I have; "Hold On" and "Dead Armadillos" were issued on Purple Pyramid Records and I do believe that Cleopatra Records is a sister company...

As for chain music stores, we have Barnes & Noble and Circuit City.....have to check them both for availability of the DVD.

i have studied both dvd's side by side trying to look for differences and i have to say that the second one i bought is the better of the two the sound and movement seem to go together better and the sharpness of the picture is much better to me however it still looks to me like glenn's mouth is closed at the end of the first singing part in GETTING TIGHTER i hope this helps you all i might be wrong about this but i think the problem with this dvd is the style of filming and the way they chose to record it which is throwing everyone off ( if this is the style in which glenn chose his idea to be presented i wont question it but i remember him saying in the chat that he was pissed about the way it was done) i hope this helps you all -i know how valuable money is to everyone and i want to try give you all the correct info before you decide to make a purchase

I agree with Tony G. On giving the DVD a second viewing, they seemed to have cleaned up the synch problems...mostly. There are still a few spots that don't look quite right. The rest of it is the video effect that was purposely done.

Anyway....if you're short on funds, this is an excellent way to get both the CDs and DVD in one package. Cheap as chips.
