Icon34 London Pix, Clip & Review

What can I say - another fantastic reception given by the London crowd - almost sell out crowd at that! A full set was given tonight including Burn. It was great to meet up with lots of fellow GHCP'ers including a few from here....Chip from Arizona, Mike from New Jersey and even Chuck from New Orleans

Unfortunately the gremlins have set in as far as the live CD, so it looks like it'll be Northampton before it'll make it's appearance - possibly earlier, but at this point probably not. But be sure and ask the merch people when you arrive at the venue for the latest update.

The sound was the best yet of the 3 gigs I've attended and for the Astoria that's saying alot! Anyone going to Norwich, Sheffield and Northampton - you're in for a real treat....looking forward to your pix and reports Enjoy the little bonus you'll find attached here

Hi David,

great review and great pictures!!! i am going to bochum to see Glenn and i just can't wait!!!!

Makes me think of when i saw Glenn with the addiction tour in Tilburg;

A friend and I are going to make the 4-5 hour drive from Vienna to Wörgl in March (Bratislava would only be a 1 hour drive, but I'm on a plane that evening...) - can't wait, can't wait!!!

Icon33 Makes me feel like I was right there!!

Hey David,

Those pictures are dynamite!!

How did you get some of those shots?? I feel as though I am standing right behind Glenn in several of them..great stuff! And it is so chrome plated cool that several folks made the long flight (or maybe swim?? ) over to the UK for these shows. Here's hoping that we get our turn here in the States sometime this year!

And it is a shame that Todd couldn't make it...the Chip And Todd Traveling Road Show would have taken on a whole new chapter...and what is this I am hearling about Charlton's Limo Service ?? Can a new business venture be on the horizon?

The Chip And Todd Traveling Road Show...where no distance is too great...no Super 8 Motel too scary.... for these brave, hardy warriors of the road!!

Thumbs up Great show

Great pictures David - sorry I missed you this time. High Road was the highlight for me with both Let It Go and Don't Let Me Bleed a close second. Could of done without Burn, although the crowd seemed to lap it up.

Well worth the wait since the cancelled December shows and having Soul Mover now will tide me over nicely to his next appearance, hopefully not too far away

Hi David & all
Ditto thanks for the pictures & great Medusa clip but please, those that couldn't go, don't get the wrong impression from some of the miserable looking faces in the front - obviously got caught at the wrong moment(s) ! I'm really jealous of those who can go / go again before the end of the tour - you're in for a great time!
A fantastic show & the new songs worked really well, I thought. That said,we were also treated to a great 'Mistreated' & 'Cant Stop the Flood'.
Couldn't stay for the encore due to train to catch but assume it was 'Seventh Star' & 'Burn'.
Third time I've seen Glenn at The Mean Fiddler & certainly seemed the largest audience. Shame about the delay of 'Freak Flag Flyin' CD but hopefully this will be available later as already stated.
Anyone worked out who "High Road" was written for yet ?
Cheers
Ben

Great pics David. What was with the front row tho? They all look bored, so either they were there just to be seen (and not caring who was playing) or they were totally mesmerized by Big Daddy's show? Sure aren't any GHCP on the front row, the ones beyond the front row look like they are having a blast at least LOL!

I was at the London show last night (about 2 or 3 back from the stage) and would like to give the front row the benefit of the doubt and suggest they were mezmorised.

Like Ben this was the third time that I've seen Glenn at the Mean Fiddler and despite initially being a little sceptical at the bias the set list seemed to show towards the brand new material it has to be said that he was absolutely awesome !! It only took about 60 seconds of Soul Mover and I was totally won over.

I think what really made it such a great night was that Glenn appeared genuinely touched - dare I say even surprised - at just how well the new stuff was received by the crowd. Their reaction to the first two or three songs and Glenn's obvious delight just set the tone for the rest of the show.

Let's just hope that things work out as planned and Glenn returns to the UK to do some more shows later in the year - I can't wait.

Tim

LaLa - I thought Toni-Marie had a strong voice but was let down by her band - she needs a stronger slightly heavier set I think - her voice seemed more suited to that genre. I think it was either the last song or the one before that, that impressed most, started off ballad-ly and finished off rockin'. I only caught them on the first night in Dudley. On a lighter note - she certainly knows how to shake her tush

Icon34 London Snaps

I've attached a couple of photos from Glenn's Mean Fiddler gig on Tuesday night. Great show as always Glenn. I'm not up with modern technology too well so I hope the photos turn up on the website.... Rob, London.

Love the photos that you posted, heavyload.
Great light and dark contrast between the two of them.

Glenn looks like "The King of Purple" in the one on the left.
Uhhh.......come to think of it, maybe he is.

Thanks

Yeah Capt., I kind of missed Todd not being there with me in the UK. Maybe one day we can take the Traveling Road Show abroad

We had an excellent time in the UK. Just got back to Phoenix about an hour ago, and I'm already on the computer trying to catch up with the sites

I'll see how my photos turned out and hopefully post a few here later this weekend.

It took you AN HOUR before you started to check out all the GH news????

Shocking.

Oh wait....you had to say hello to the official GH Cute Pooch.

(OK, that explains the delay.)

Hey, I'm glad that you're both home, and that your knees are still working.

Grace, sorry I waited an hour before getting to the web-sites

Although within 30 minutes of getting home I was emailing Wolfysmith thanking him and Annette for their hospitality. Wolfy made sure I kept my figure while there, feeding us very well...especially the apple pie and ice cream. Hmmm.....I wonder what apple pie with HP sauce would be like?

Chip

That's what I use, too! Uhhhh....but not on pie!!!
If you really liked it, it's not hard to find, here in the US.
I don't think that it tastes as vinegar-y as A1.
But for apple pie, I guess you should try the "fruity" version
of HP sauce that has pineapple and/or other fruit in it.

So does HP stand for "Houses of Parliament" or "Hughes People"?

Thank God that you didn't end up as road pizza.
OOPS.......I mean bangers and mash.

PS......
Will we be seeing Chuy making any new fashion statements soon?

Grace -

Come to find out, we already had a bottle of HP sauce in the house. Lea bought it at some British grocery store out here. I promptly got it out of the pantry

In the nine days we were in England, I never did get the hang of looking to the right first. There were several close calls with taxis and double decker buses
I just ended up looking left and right about 20 times as I crossed over. I know I must have looked like some red-neck American tourist

Yes, Chuy might make a couple of fashion statements here in a few days. I think he's still a little mad at us for leaving him at the pet resort for so long

Serves you right, Chip.
You probably forgot to tell the staff at "the pet resort"
that Chuy is used to listening to GH music every day,
and will become troublesome without it.
