Off topic: World Cup soccer

Sorry for all non-football loving people, but with the World Cup coming up, I found this
hilarious German site on the fact that Holland is
not at the WC this year:

cheers!

Hey!

Good luck Roberto and Renato. I think
Italy and Brazil have a good chance of getting far. Its good to see that Ronaldo has no injuries
this time. Look forward to the tournament, although La Oranja Mechanica is not there...

cheers,

- Fedor

world cup is always french french

hum sorry,
i am French, nothing to say.
We won the 98 world cup, we won the 2000 european championship. But i think it will be very difficult for us to keep "the big cup".

well
to be honest....i have to tell you i am a big supporter of brasil team.
i don't know the reasons.
i think because i remember very well the team of 1970 against italy in that great final.
so my blood is a little brasilian.
but i think that team can't exist now.
in this soccer era the brasil team looks like an european team.
i love romario, but he's not at the games.
the last brasilian heroes are been zico dirceu rivelino cerezo..........
i don't like to much this actual team.
but you know....brasil is brasil.
of course i like italy too.
but i can't understand roberto baggio at home.
so, i think in this moment argentina and france are the best teams of this mundial.
i hope some african team can arrive at the end of this competition.
because the african players in last years became very good

Having just walked in the door from my flight back from Seoul, I can tell you Korea is full of banners, flags, ceremonies, displays...in the airport on the hiways, on the buses everywhere!! They are flat out for the World Cup... It's a great country also... I was very very impressed with it.. Would definitely go back.. The Russian girls in the clubs next to the Kunsan AFB were nice company also!!!!!!! (LOL)

World Cup

Well Roberto.
Its excelent to know that you are a Brazilian soccer Fan. We have so much players in Italy, like Ronaldo, Cafu, Emerson,.
Im half Italian too. (Renato Maestrali)
About this team, this team is not very good. I saw Brasil in 82 with Zico, Falcao and we lost for Italy. 94 champion and 98 lost for France.
The 98 team was better than this one and Ronaldo was in better shape. Lets hope this Cup be better than the last one.
Brasil stopped this morning to see the game

England!!!

Well, I'm not as into football as I used to be, but my wonderful country is gripped in patriotism because England are in the World Cup and it is the Queens Jubilee too. But, as the token Englishman on this topic, I say come on England! If you read the papers over here we only have one player (Beckham) but that's enough. Why we bothered qualifying is a mystery to me. We'll get hammered!
You have to have a sense of humour when we invent a sport and everybody else is better at it than us.....

well,
after four days i got a big delusion from englan team.
unfortunately they started very fast, but in second half sweden played better than england.
i didn't like too much brasil today, but when they play the ball is always a big team.
but.....didn't exist the penalty.
the corean referee has been really poor.
italy played very well in the first half, i think.
vieri is one of the best forward of these games and totti is a real number 10.
but ecuador is poor team, so i wait for the next match against croazia.
anyway i mistaked about german team.
it's a young and new team.
i think they will arrive at the end of the games

England

Well, nobody was more surprised than me that my beloved country beat Argentina, but I'm pleased we did. And a belated congrats to the USA for their stunning win over Portugal and for providing possibly the most entertaining match of the tournament thus far (not to mention the best own goal!)

Congrats Tony (Japan), Renato (Brazil) and the UK supporters. I watched some good matches last week! I think Italy at least was stolen from a point. Bad luck! Patience Roberto... Italy might make it far. Last days/matches were full of surprises, which makes an interesting WC.

cheers,

- Fedor

well
i think principally the coach trapattoni is wrong.
i can't understand.
italy is full of great players : montella del piero inzaghi......
but all are seated in bench !!!!!
trapattoni likes the traditional italian style.
defense, defense, defense !!!!!!
if you wanna win the games, put two forwards to play.
vieri is a big player, but lost and lonely in italian attack.
maldini is old player. too tired to play again.
puahhhhh !!!!!

Brasil

For me and half of the Brazilian population, the Brazil team didnt play against a big oponent. The TV is very excited saying that we are going to thee 5th title. But lets wait a little more and play against one big oponent like Argentina, England, France etc..
Last Saturday the Brazilian game started 08:30 AM, Brazilian time, and by 09:30 AM some people were already drunk. :-) (Maybe one day we can beat england in terms of drinking)

Cheers to all of you
