Ian Gillan: Pissed whilst driving, loses license

Oh holy sh*t!!!!! Lookadis: (Blabbermouth.net)

According to Telegraph.co.uk, DEEP PURPLE singer Ian Gillan was banned from driving Friday (May 28) after being stopped in his car and found to be more than twice the alcohol limit.

The 58-year-old vocalist was seen walking unsteadily to his car near his home in Lyme Regis, Dorset, shortly after midnight on May 22.

Police stopped him after he left the Cobb Gate car park and he was found to have 76 micrograms of alcohol in 100 milliliters of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.

Weymouth magistrates banned Gillan, who also sang with BLACK SABBATH, from driving for 16 months. Gillan, who pleaded guilty, was also fined £500 with £50 costs.

Ian just kicked total ass a few months ago in San Francisco, and I'm very sorry to read about this. One good thing about having sober heroes like GH is never having to read headlines like this. Please be careful big Ian!!!

It was a classic Gillan excuse as to why he was drunk though - he went for a curry and got wrecked because he was having trouble finishing the book he was working on.

Whether that was a book he was writing or a book he was reading wasn't specified...
