Arrow Glenn in BASS GUITAR magazine!

I'm a bass player & just guess how surprised I was when I opened up the latest issue of Bass Guitar Magazine & there is my idol...GLENN HUGHES!

It's a special feature they do every month called "The Deep End - Classic Players/Vintage Gear". And this month they feature the man! The picture is from a DP Mk IV live outdoor show. More pictures from that show have been posted elsewhere on this site. The article is pretty good - not entirely accurate, but as comprehensive as a one page article can be. They even plug Soul Mover!

If you're interested in finding it it's called "Guitar World's Bass Guitar Magazine". It's the Jan/Feb issue with Tommy Shannon/Double Trouble & JoJo Garza/Los Lonely Boys on the cover. You can find it at Borders or any of those chain bookstores.

Like I said - as a bassist I was ecstatic to see my hero in a modern bass guitar rag! Just wanted to share the info....

Hello LoEndMaestro,

I went to your profile, and saw that you're from Georgia (USA).
So are you talking about the "Guitar World" chain stores?

If so, there are a couple that I know of, here in Jersey....offhand
I can think of Union, and New Brunswick. Probably there are other
Guitar World stores in other states, too. We GH fans in the US should
check the yellow pages for nearby stores, go there and pick up this
magazine, and make A LOT OF NOISE while there, about how great
GH and his music is......hey, every bit of publicity helps, huh?

Thanks for posting this information.

Grace

PS......See what happens when you have "Pink Clouds"?
You get "Pink Noise"!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Grace. I was referring to the magazine called "Guitar World" that can be found in various chain bookstores (Borders, Waldenbooks, Barnes & Noble, etc..).
Sorry if I was confusing!
Either way we do need to continue to spread the gospel of Glenn!

Can't wait for Soul Mover!!!

I had missed this thread... I was just at our local Fry's Electronics store- walked by the magazines saw this issue, picked it up to see if there was anything in it about Glenn's new signature bass- and there it was! (This Bio)

I was quite surprised (pleased)... but there are several inaccuracies as previously stated. Has anyone sent an e-mail to the magazine editor stating the corrections? The more people who contact him or comment on the article the more chance (possibly) Glenn can get some more future coverage ...do you think?

This is the email address for the magazines "Bass Response" column in case anyone would like to contact them.

Icon33 In again!

Here's a review of Soul Mover as featured in the March/April 2005 issue of Guitar Worlds' Bass Guitar magazine.
