Hi Ad
Thanks once again for providing these 'goodies'.
'2 AM Jam' is more to my liking but from my limited knowledge the band seem to be quite versatile & I will investigate further.
Handy that you published the LP notes as well & clarifying the 'who is' Steve Miller bit
Cheers
Ben

I've been trying to track down more info on this band--anyone know any other sources?

Interesting reading the album notes on producer Steve Miller and his part in Grinderswitch. That band produced a fine blues guitarist/vocalist named Larry Howard. Larry put out some great solo stuff in the 80's and early 90's

Hmmm...just finished downloading the 'whole' album, or so I thought. The download does not contain the song '2 A.M. Jam' that is listed here. Just 8 more posts and I'll have it all. Ha!

Here is a second location for download:

Unfortunately, this one only has 8 of the 9 songs also. Nice quality though, 320kbps.

I recently came across the Cookin' Mama album at the Ancient Starsong site listed above. I love the album, and would love to know more about the band. Any idea where such info might be found?

I can't wait to hear "2 A.M. Jam".

Fascinating that Glenn knows somebody from such an obscure band that I've just recently discovered. I guess it really is a small world after all (queue that maddening Disney song).

My dad was the bass player for this band, I've never heard them though, he never talked with his family much about his music past or present despite his passion for it, unfortunately he passed away suddenly 2 weeks ago. I knew he was in this band but I didn't know that it had gained such a following, I actually have an original pressing of the vinyl sealed and I really don't intend on opening it so it's great that you have provided some of the songs for download as the ancientstarsongs blog has a broken link. I can't wait to get a chance to listen to my father's sweet, smooth basslines from his youth, he was and always shall be infinitely talented and sorely missed.

Cookin' Mama

Sorry to hear about your dad. He played on a real interesting album during a very interesting musical time.
Btw, where is your dad on the front cover album pic? Been trying to figure out who was who in this band for quite some time......
Take care
