Icon34 Classic Rock - September 2005

A letter from a 'major Glenn Hughes follower,' reads as follows:

Being a major Glenn Hughes follower, I've been anticipating the release of the new Iommi album since hearing their excellent Dep Sessions collaboration. However, I finished reading Geoff Barton's review of Fused in Classic Rock No 82 in a fit of despair. Barton needs to book himself in urgently for an ear syringe! This album really cooks and the epic I Go Insane is one of the best things I've heard in ages. Iommi and Hughes, I salute you!

Keith Lambert, Felixstowe - we salute you, too!

Hey Shirl, you beat me to it.

i thought i'd been appointed official CR reporter by Grace
Hopefully she wont axe me from my role for being to slow to report.

There is also a really big & positive article on Journey. One of the greatest bands of all time in my opinion. Geoff Barton really raves over them. Neal Schon says they will be playing some shows in Europe too

Any of you guys in the US got their new cd yet?
They have been giving it away for free at their shows apparently.

Only on this occasion Wolfy - it was a race between the two of us a year or so ago, but you must open and read yours before the postie has even got it through your letterbox.

You can now have your official CR reporting status back ... ... or Grace will be re-sharpening that blade ...

No question. Steve Perry has the second most soulful voice, next to Glenn (when he has his soulful voice 'head' on ... ).

... and I never knew that Lizzy did DP covers way back when - Funky Junction Play a Tribute to Deep Purple.

Ohhh, I have that LP - strange, strange, strange release.
Neither Purple nor Lizzy, but Hard Stuff are pictured on the Front cover, which is totally strange.
Phil Lynott, Eric Bell and Brian Downey together with two other hired musicians, including a mediocre Ian Gillan wannabe on vocals. Odd instrumentals also included.
Read the whole story at The Highway Star......

Cheers,
Christian
