Icon37 Short overview...

Hi David,
OK, here's your first Finnish lesson...

First Glenn tells how all got started...they were promoting Dep Sessions....

He tells which songs they wrote first...Grace, Resolution Song...

I said that he sounds quite different nowadays compared to 7th Star...Glenn reminded us that 80's were his dark period...

Glenn tells that Tony gave him free hands what comes to vocal melodies. Glenn did 3 different ones to every song and let Tony to choose the most suitable one...

Bob Marlette was very important guy to the recording process. He is very, very, very good keyboard player....

They used only Rhodes, Hammond and some violins for background...otherwise it is just trio playing...of course there are a couple of guitar tracks....

They wanted to make modern sounding album...if Sabbath makes an album, it will sound more traditional...if Sabbath makes that album, Glenn will propably help them in song writing...

They didn't want to use any ex-Black Sabbath members...that's why Geoff Nicholls for example wasn't asked to play on Fused.

Tony let Glenn decide the drummer...he would have wanted Chad, but because he wasn't available - he was busy with RHCP - they chose Kenny....

On tour...Glenn said that the plan is to tour...they will leave Ronnie James Dio in peace, but they will play 3 Sabbath classics from '71-73...plus half of Fused, 3 from Dep Sessions and 3 songs from 7th Star...they won't play anything written by Ritchie Blackmore.

...chances that they will play in Scandinavia are very good, because Tony's wife is from Stockholm, Sweden....

...he sent his best regards to Finnish Glenn Hughes and Deep Purple fans...but I didn't include that to text...which was supposed to be in the latest issue of Tuhma, but was left out because of lack of space....

Uhhhh, actually our first Finnish lesson from you is how to sing:
"Happy Birthday to You."

Good luck to Glenn and Tony, trying to choose which songs to perform for the tour, and which songs to leave out.

Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no........

Icon37 Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

Hi Architect,
yeah I agree - anything from Sabbath Bloody Sabbath would be dream come true...

...Sabbath Bloody Sabbath - hmmm...I'm not sure if even Glenn can do that night after night...

...and Grace - yes - you're right...
