My comments on GH's Spanish set list

Well how about this!!!!!!! Glenn has listened to us fans that kept complaining about too much non GH solo stuff in the set. There's a ton more in this set than in any recent GH show... Bravo to Glenn for listening to the complaints. Now if we could get DP to do more of their recent stuff, although as I said here recently their recent list looked better.

Hi JohnH,
my only complaint....set should be something like 10 songs longer...

My dream is to hear In For The Kill - live some day...perhaps during HTP's next tour. Black Sabbath didn't play that song...

Too right Tero! Before I was a total Glenn fanatic, I only had Stormbringer, Burn, Play Me Out and Feel with him on. I saw Seventh Star and I really liked Sabbath, and ummed and ahhed about whether Glenn could hack it, because none of the albums I had showed the vocal style necessary for Sabbath.

My brother didn't like Glenn at all, said Play Me Out was "pimp music" and laughed at the idea of him singing for Sabbath. I ended up buying Seventh Star out of curiosity. My brother joined me when I put it on and as soon as Glenn delivered the fisrt "Thun-derrrrr!" note we both stared at each other in disbelief. It was that CD which made me realise how good Glenn was vocally, and it's still a belting album now.

A side note: my brother ended up buying Seventh Star, all three Purple studio albums and both HTP's. He isn't sold on Glenn solo yet but I'm working on it!

He has nothing but respect for him as a vocalist, but he hasn't quite clicked with the solo stuff yet. He feels Glenn (and JLT for that matter) botrh shine more with a big name alongside them - ie HTP, Hughes and Iommi etc. I suppose he has a point.

Truth be told, if 'Play Me Out' was the first thing I ever heard by Glenn, it would be a long time before I gave him another chance. For some reason, that album has never clicked with me. I would rather listen to 'Four On The Floor' anyday.

Cheers...Todd

Points(s) taken, Todd and James - though I loved Play Me Out when I first heard it all those years ago. It's that goddamned voice of his - haunting and wonderful - from any angle!!

"Play Me Out" took me a few goes to get into it, but now I really appreciate it. "Feel" is still king for me though.

Yeah Chris, I got the package. I'll have to get them posters sorted shortly as well.... Bradford is coming!

Yes - the package arrived. It needs to be washed about ten times though to fit my svelte body ( ) and hopefully it will shrink - great idea though.

I can almost see Bradford in the distance...

Turn it in Shirl. I bet if I tried on your T-shirt I'd have enough material left over to lag my boiler.

I just wish he could find room for either Space High or LA Cut Off for the upcoming tour - even a medley of PMO tunes works for me!

And how about going back to the Purple medley format as he did a couple of years - that would make room for at least 3 other more needed songs...ok, I know...I'm getting greedy - with 'Blue Jade' now in the set, my night will be made complete, so no complaints really
