Maybe this book is something for you, Sigurd. It's in English, the author is Canadian.

You can order it directly from Martin Popoff:

www.martinpopoff.com/html/welcome.html

I've heard from my German folks that, when you e-mail him, you get a quick reply and he signs all his books he sends out.

Willem, my mate ,of course nothing is wrong with mk2:
For me the concerto for group and orchestra was an eyeopener, the single "Hallelujah" beautiful sung by Gillan magically played by Blackmore.
Than "In Rock" blew me away, right in your face with solobattles and a rough hot sound.
Fireball disappointed me, Machine Head was'nt my thing because of the very clinical sound. And on "Made in Japan" the tracks from it were much better.
"Who Do We Think We Are" wasn't my cup of coffee too, well and than "Burn" set the new standard and now you could hear such horny basslines,
Coverdale and Glenn made the vocal parts to sparkle a lot. And more..

But it's fact, i became a purple fan when i heard "Speed King","Bloodsucker","Child in Time" which i heard first from purple.

But now i'm happy to play mk3 and mk4 stuff on guitar, i have just a new youtube on "Keepin Time" with a groovy track from Stormbringer
greets
Sigurd
