Icon33 Andrew Watt

As you may have seen in Glenn's earlier Tweet, he is writing this week with Andrew Watt, a talented, 22 year old, up and coming musician from New York.

I highly recommend you check out some of his music...

Andrew Watt returned a couple of weeks ago from touring with Cody Simpson in the British Isle and part of Europe. Working with Glenn should introduce some interesting music!

It's brilliant that Glenn works and writes with young musicians and show them the right path...can't wait to hear what they cooked...
BTW...Glenn looks more than great on the photo...

I'm really digging the sounds of Andrew Watt and The Mulberry Tree. I'm very excited over seeing what magic was produced down in Glenn's studio !

Does this mean Glenn has 3 recording projects on the go now? The secret collaboration, the Andrew collaboration he's involved in now, and the planned solo album? I'm getting a tad confused now

Yes, those 3 and maybe more! As I've been saying for a while now, quoting Glenn, "...expect the unexpected"

After being on the 'bench' most of last year (so to speak), he's making up for lost ground, so don't expect the usual playbook

The latest was that GH wouldn't be hunkered down in the studio this year but all over live, but I guess things changed?

Andrew Watt has some fresh ideas going as well as good sense of musical history which he blends into his style of writing. Joey Eppard and Jeff Buckley come to mind, and Andrew has that Funk element as well. should be interesting to hear what they come up with.

...because nothing has changed. You've obviously misinterpreted something along the way. Anyway, that's why I said what I said.

What is actually happening, is more things being added to the 'to do list' for this year (live and studio) and as I've said before, quoting Glenn, "expect the unexpected" - the usual playbook is out the window from this point forward

That is exactly what I want to hear/read. Glenn, Jason and Derek sitting together and making new plans for the future

Why should THEY split because of the solo career of a certain Joe B.?

I'm sure they will find a solution, satisfying for themselves and for the fans.
And if the name BCC is gone - so what, the music will live on.
How about BCB - Black Country Brothers?

The Mulberry Tree Ep is very enjoyable, Watt is obviously a hugely talented musician. As many of you have said, very interesting to hear what comes out of the collaboration!

If some shadows of unfulfilled expectations from the past still haunt some of us (H/T 2, Shape 68...), the not-so-distant future just might bring the healing light...

Amazing stuff....

I don't mean to tell tales out of school, but I heard two tracks by this combo this past week. I don't know if any of it will see the light of day, but I will say that it is some of the strongest GH music yet. Regardless of where he lands, please know that Glenn is writing singing, and playing better than ever.

In the past, I'd spoken to Glenn about the influence of Jack Bruce's bass playing, but on this stuff, I completely got it. Like I said, he's never sounded stronger.

I can't wait to see where this all leads for our Mr. Hughes.

That makes me even more curious, Tony. I can hardly wait that more details about this new band surface. Somehow I have a feeling that 2014 will be an exciting year for GH fans.

(And thanks for the DC interview from March wich was forced upon you... )
