Icon42 Gary Moore 1986 Interview excerpts (in German)

I recently acquired a huge collection of clippings on Gary Moore, mainly from the Eighties and all in German.

Here are some interesting comments on Glenn - I have tried to translate them as good as my knowledge of the English language allows.
----------------

This is from issue 1/86 of a magazine called Rock Power (scan of the particular page attached)!

(Question about the band line-up, Gary Ferguson and Bob Daisley in particular - how did you get together with those two guys?)
Gary: Gary Ferguson I know via Glenn Hughes, he played drums on the Hughes/Thrall LP. I asked Glenn, and Glenn actually recommended Gary. They came over to England together and thankfully it worked out.

[...]

RP: You have worked with many singers, e.g. Phil Lynott, Charlie Huhn, Glenn Hughes or John Sloman. Which one is your favourite, and also tell us why?
Gary: A really difficult question, mainly because they're all very different singers. Still, Glenn Hughes is my favourite, Phil Lynott is also very good, he has an interesting voice.
RP: What about John Sloman?
Gary: He sometimes tries to sound like Glenn Hughes, or like a mixture between Glenn and Todd Rundgren, but that's very hard to achieve.
RP: So, what happened to and around your team-up with Glenn Hughes, originally you wanted to tour with him, didn't you?
Gary:
I don't like to work with people who do too many other things at one time, and that's exactly the case with Glenn. We soon found out that this collaboration would be very difficult and that's why we ended up going separate ways again.

-------------
Cheers,
Christian

Thanks for reading through all of the Gary Moore
interview, and translating the GH parts for us, Chris.

(Although it would have been much funnier if you
had let Fast Joey put the German version of this
interview through his stupid computer-translator.)
But at least your excellent translation made sense.

And our boy STILL has his fingers in too many pies
at the same time................
