The great reviews just keep rolling in and deservedly so!!

This is one great album!! These are straight up classic songs. It's almost hard to believe it's as good as it is!!

I was expecting it to be great too so that says a lot. I told Glenn that I thought it may be his best ever. I met a bunch of people over the weekend too and it was almost unanimous that this is one killer record.

Anyone who hasn't gotten it yet, don't waste another minute!! get out there and grab your copy. If you are hesitating as to whether you are going to see them, they simply cannot be missed. You'll never be quite the same after you experience this band.

As good as it gets!!

Finally got my copy in the mail (from Amazon). Wish I knew that BestBuy had this for $9.99, coulda saved a couple bucks plus got it sooner.

Am listening to it now as I type this, thought it would be cool to try to catchup on some stuff here on the GH forum...

I love it so far, but I loved the last record too. Not sure which one I like more (haven't even gotten through this one yet but am blown away).

Something I wish they would do more often on the records is for Joe & Glenn to sing more "together". I love when their voices mix or they trade off on lines in the same song (like An Ordinary Son which I am listening to now).

That invokes the fantastic Humble Pie vibe they had working back when they had Steve Marriott, Peter Frampton, and Greg Ridley all contributing vocals to some of the same songs.

Is that track on the limited edition that Amazon is selling here??

They show it in the tracklist on that page, but oddly it isn't listed on the back cover image that they show for that release (???).

Nope, it was dropped in the end, despite what Amazon have on their track listing...

Yes it's kind of a bummer, that on each song, that singer does his own backups and there really is almost no vocal interaction or duetting. With BCC Was expecting some kind of DC/GH backing each other up, which was also done on HTP. I can understand live if GH does not do the backups on stuff like Hadrian's Wall, because he's saving his voice.

Well, now I'm hearing the of course limited edition "2" album of that great band "Black Country Communion", and i hope i 'll find some words which can explain a lil more than the euphoric feeling, the album had driven me into.
I've heard it the last days on my itunes, studioboxes, livingroom, mostly in my car and i can imagine if someone comes on new into this stuff, he must be blown away by the first notes.
"The Outsider", which i knew before also "Man In The Middle" are such powerful tight numbers, written detailled with passion, best organ and guitar parts, chapeu claque Derek and Joe, this is 21century rock, surely based on the seventies but formed as a new typical hardrockstyle.
Jason now is playing another drumset as on the debutalbum, no longer "Ludwig" but DWdrums, a strong evolution of the bandsound.
The drums are hugh and extreme punchy, Jason's beats are young and wild, although tight with Glenn's bassguitar.
Glenn plays such a unbeatable bassguitar, included bendings on the higher notes, some of my bandmates noticed the bass immediatly, when i played the record for them,"what a great bassguitar".
And i'm smiling from one ear to the other only could tell them: "that's Glenn playing."
Also the bassguitarsound with the laney tube heads he uses now is incredible intensive, as well i heard it life on stage.
So the album is sounding dark indeed, but not hopeless, Glenn sings with passion and fire, his Rock'n Roll voice so great than his soul voice.
Glenn sings so free but concentrated, he takes us on a ride from narrow to wide, from desperation to salvation, but always with strength and he's upright and clear.
My favourite songs on the album, now a lil difficult to say, 'cause i love all,
are "The Outsider, Faithless, Little Secret" and "Cold".
"Faithless" is a milestone of songwriting and the guitarsolo on it is terrific.
that's mine for the moment,
great to live in this amazing time,
regards
Sigurd

David, I was just thinking the other day that we never got your official review of this fine album. Unless I missed it. If I didn't what are your thoughts?

For me it's absolutely epic. Every time I hear it, I hear more and I love it more. This band is so damned good it's scary. And Glenn? To me this may well be his masterpiece. The song writing is amazing, the bass playing perfectly complimenting each part of each song. The voice? man, what a performance! It's stunning! It would be hard for anyone to listen to this album and not be simply amazed by his singing.

As we all know, he's had some great records over the years and some of the recent ones are killer. BCC1 was great too of course. I never tire of it. This one however is deeper and better IMO. I really think it's a classic that will be regarded as such years from now.

You're right, I haven't penned a full review this time around. But that's not to say I'm not enjoying it

Quite the contrary... current favourites (it changes weekly!!) include Smokestack Woman, Crossfire, I Can Feel Your Spirit, Faithless, Cold ~ but they're all damn good as you say

Hopefully this one and the first, will turn some new folks onto Glenn's solo output and give some of us long time fans a chance to peruse his back solo catalog, as in my opinion, this is where he really shines. But at long last he's getting the exposure he deserves and if it means as part of BCC, then so be it. There have been a few times, we all thought 'this is the one', but at last, we have the band that will return him to the level he deserves to be heard at.

But if things do eventually go by the way side with BCC, I think now, he will easily move on to some other project, with just as much success. So it's all good, whatever happens.

Meantime, long may his new found success continue

in my office at work there are 3 of us who have all bought and really enjoying this album.
One guy is in his 20's (favorite band Foo Fighters and into other massively popular bands), the other in his 30s (Alice Cooper and The Scorpions) and i'm in my 40s and a GHCP.

Amazingly all 3 of us say 'Save Me' is our favourite track!

I feel like I may be the only one, but as much as I like BCC 1 and 2, I find myself enjoying Soul Mover and Music For The Divine as much and to be honest ,probably more so than BCC 2.

I find BCC2 to be an awfully good record so I am not slagging it in the least.

I really hope BCC make many more albums in the future and they continue to tour. IMHO Glenn is at his best in this band it seems to inspire him to new levels of performance!

Agreed. Fingers are crossed that this isn't another limited run project like HTP or HT, but instead is a JJ Marsh style decade or more relationship!

I hope they continue as well, although I'd prefer they continued with a different producer. With each album he produces, I have to give it a spin or two to accustom my ears to the sound. I feel like I'm listening to the albums through a pillow

Well , my two cent on the BCC catalogue : we have two albums containing at least 11 classic songs - though there are songs like " Standing at the burning tree " which are classics of their own, so there`s no nedd for BCC two play DeepZepSab or whatsoever from way back ib the 70ies. Yes, i love DP, i love Zep and to a lesser degree Sab too but : songs like You keep on moving is Glenn`s song, i`d like to hear on his solo tour but not with BCC. Cause : BCC has the potential and has proven that they can : stand on their own and i do hope they will for a long time
