I (Jorn Lande)
Country Girl (Glenn)
Falling Off The Edge Of The World (Glenn)
Die Young (Jorn Lande)
Voodoo (Jorn Lande)

Pretty nice, but of course - very different than with Ronnie. But Glenn and Jorn both clearly sang really excellent, just so much different than Ronnie.

from Classic Rock's site:

Quote:
A week ago, Geezer Butler told Classic Rock that he was dreading playing the Ronnie James Dio tribute set with Heaven & Hell. One can understand why. But chocking back the emotions, Butler, together with Tony Iommi and Vinny Appice, send shivers down the spine as they deliver the ultimate tribute to the man who’s not there. It has to be said that singers Jorn Lande and Glenn Hughes do a stunning job, not only reminding us all of the tragic loss – and there are some truly tearful moments – but also underlining the way Dio’s legacy has united us all. And when Wendy Dio comes on to read out a message for the cancer charity Stand Up And Shout, there are tears in almost every eye,. Mind you, Heaven & Hell also offer the day’s most surreal moment, when Phil Anselmo dashes on during the encore of Neon Knights and snatches the microphone from an aghast Hughes. Hat stand time.

I was not there. But I've seen some footage (mostly poor quality) on internet. It was strange to see Black Sabbath (that's the real name of Heaven and Hell!) without the very great little man Ronnie James Dio. I miss dear Ronnie a lot. He was such a nice guy and an excellent singer.

Jorn and Glenn did a great job. Different then Dio but on their own style. Jorn (in my opinion) steady, but more conservative and GLENN, very powerfull and more adventurous! Bring on the DVD (Stand up and Shout fund)

Note (24-7) by Geezer Butler on THE Black Sabbath forum about The Heaven and Hell tribute gig: Note the camera guys out in front: There will be more coming out soon I suspect, and professionally done too..........

That sounds good, Thanx Geezer for this info

Back from London and High Voltage!

Heaven and Hell's set on Saturday was excellent.

RJD was omnipresent, be it on the video walls, or in every single announcement from the stage.

After the stage had been set up - mind you, this was a big set-up for a festival - the H&H crew hugged, knowing this was the last time they had gotten everything ready to go for this show. Magic.

Iommi, Butler and Appice reminded the crowd instantly that this is the band that invented Heavy Metal. Tony Iommi is the riffmaster. He invented the Heavy metal guitar riff. Full stop.

Jorn Lande was technically very good, excellent performance actually, but his personality doesn't match any of the other musicians on stage - yet.

Glenn seemed to be a bit nervous at the start, and it took him a couple of minutes to get used to the role as a solo singer again, but then he never stopped to amaze the crowd with his performance.

When Glenn went over to Geezer Butler during one of Iommi's solos and put his hand on Butler's shoulder, you could see GB's sigh of relief, that Glenn was there with them in what appeared to be very emotional show. Magic. Wendy Dio fought the tears. Everybody did.

Looking forward to watching this on DVD!

Good to see Mikey, Jerome and Nath again! Pity we couldn't chat any longer - see you in September though!

And before I forget... I posted some pics in the Members Gallery - Enjoy!

Cheers,
Christian

This, courtesy of rock journalist Dave Ling's diary dated Sunday 25th July

Quote:
.......The much-anticipated farewell to Heaven And Hell was enjoyable, though perhaps less stellar than I expected. The outpouring of love from co-frontmen Glenn Hughes and Jørn Lande did Ronnie James Dio proud, as did Wendy Dio’s tearful speech, and the show was a good send-off, but sparks didn’t fly – not for yours truly. However the set’s conclusion did provide HV with its own ‘Jarvis Cocker at the Brits’ moment when Down’s Phil Anselmo, who’d been watching side-stage ran on and seized the microphone from Hughes during the encore of ‘Neon Knights’. Despite putting his arm around the tattooed, muscle-bound interloper and gazing imploringly into the wings, Glenn seemed to mistake Anselmo for some punter who’d made it onstage, his phased expression seeming to cry out: “SECURITY!” Almost as chucklesome as the part which saw Hughes sing into the wrong end of the microphone – true! However, the tribute show was performed with 101% conviction and sincerity. Somewhere, somehow, I’m sure Ronnie James Dio will have been looking down and smiling. .........
