I remember seeing Purple in concert a few years ago, and during his guitar medley of riffs, Steve Morse threw in the Burn riff - an incredibly brief version of Burn by the current Purple lineup, indeed, LOL!Cheers...Todd

Your guess is as good as mine - it's been a few years.

Blackmore did that too

I remember the same thing Todd has mentioned done by Blackmore during a jam at the Vienna show of the "Battle Rages On" Tour, back in - was it? - 1993. I still have the Tour Programme and ticket*, so I could check the date if interested.
Saw them with Morse twice, and Morse probably threw in the riff aswell, but I don't remember exactly. If he did, then it was during the Abandon Tour. I have the Programme and ticket* of that Tour aswell, so I could check the exact date...

Cheers,
Christian

* don't ask.... I really collect those things. Always bring back memories!

You're not the only one, Chris. I have most all of my concert ticket stubs, dating back twenty years!

About six months ago, Steve Morse and Rod Morgenstern appeared at a local Music Store and jammed out some Dregs together. They also did some stuff I did not recognize, but I did recognize Steve doing the "Burn riff" during a part of his demonstration. "Twas quite a bit of fun, and there were no more than thirty people who were there the entire time. I have been told they will be doing it again in the future, so I will post it here for any Floridians who may want to saunter on over.
