Thin Lizzy

Yes, you are right, tony g. Brian Robertson did appear on the Thin Lizzy DVD, "LIVE AND DANGEROUS". He was also sharing guitar duties with Scott Gorham.

I believe the release that's been announced is a 'Classic Albums'-type documentary about L&D. I could be wrong - actually, I hope so!!!

love

Hi,

that's a good new, there's also a new DVD "Thunder & Lightning Tour" with the following track list:

1- Thunder & Lightning
2- Babe please don't go
3-Angel of death
4-Are you ready?
5- Cold sweat
6- The sun goes down
7- Emerald
8- Still in love with you
9- Rosalie
10 Dancing in the moonlight
11- Whiskey in the jar.

It's nice to see Phil with John Sykes, Scott, Darren and Brian, i recommend it.

Cheers and enjoy it

Pere

Wow is the DVD of the "Thunder and Lightning" tour already out? I know it was announced a few years ago but it was never released to my knowledge. It would be fantastic if it is available now.

Time to switch to Amazon now.

Bye

Hi Tony, hi guys

a little late with the reply, sorry.

The Thunder & Lightning Tour DVD is a straight DVD version of the original TV broadcast of the Dublin gig, spring 1983. It has a three minute introduction including interview snippets with various ex Band members and Lizzy affiliates.
The picture is a little dark, but of course much better than on all the bootlegs.
Still it would be interesting to see the whole show....
The quality of the set is a little mixed. Lynott is in bad shape physically and needs a couple of songs to warm up.
Thunder & Lightning itself is just disastrous.
John Sykes does a fine job throughout though.
The version of Still In Love With You from this gig stands out and ended up on the Life/Live album btw.

As for the Live & Dangerous DVD that has been released in the UK today, this is not the Rainbow gig (yes the one with Gorham & Robertson sharing guitar duties) that has been released on VHS (at least two times). This is unfortunately another unauthorized documentary, obviously related to - you guessed right - Classic Rock Productions or however they call themselves this time around??!
The real Live And Dangerous has so far been only released in Japan on DVD and we're still waiting for a continental release....
That Japanese DVD is usually available for 40+ Euros as an Import though....

There is of course another two Lizzy concert DVDs available. Their complete set from German TV show Rockpalast, 1981 just before the Renegade album hit the stores.
Snowy White on second lead guitar this time.
And don't forget the legendary short but sweet Sydney 1978 show with Gary Moore and the extraordinary Mark Nauseef helping out on the drums, replacing Brian Downey who needed some time off touring stayed in Ireland with his sick son.

The 5-piece is complete with Universal's Greatest Hits DVD, where you get some video clips you didn't get on the Dedication VHS release.

Okay. More than enough said now

Cheers,
Christian
