Arrow New Joe Lynn Turner Interview

Vocalist Joe Lynn Turner (RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE) recently spoke with "The Hairball John Radio Show" regarding his involvement in the HEAVEN AND EARTH project featuring Stuart Smith as well as his recent solo disc.

Joe Lynn Turner: "Right now I am very excited because I have just released a new CD in Europe and Japan which is soon to be released here in the U.S. called 'The Usual Suspects' and I am getting nothing but rave reviews."

Hairball John: Do you have any plans of doing some U.S. dates in support of "The Usual Suspects"?

Joe Lynn Turner: "Yeah, we're doing it, John, we are sneaking around here. Karl Cochran [guitar] called me and said, 'Look, if I put the band together would you be into it?' And I said, 'You know what, sure, let's do it.' I am sick and tired of saying no. I really want to do this, and and I think we could start out with a couple clubs and just do the weekend warrior thing to see how it feels. I am really trying to set up tours with Europe, Japan, Russia and so on and go out for six to eight weeks. So we are going to put our foot in the (U.S.) water and if this works we will come back and start to do something full-blown with a tour bus."

Hairball John: It has been a long time since you have toured here in the States.

Joe Lynn Turner: "You know itís crazy. Here I am a U.S. guy, a Jersey guy, and I do all my playing overseas. It's crazy. So itís time that we start rockin' in the U.S. and I just urge everyone to get up off the couch and go out and have fun. Let's do this rock and roll thing. You are never too old to rock and roll ó come on out!"

Joe Lynn Turner can be seen live on June 9 at The Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale, NY and on June 16 at Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey.
