Icon47 Purple DVDs

This is from the Christmas 2004 issue of Record Collector (UK)

*** Two DVD-Videos of Deep Purple during their classic 70s heyday are due from EMI/T2 Media in February 2005. Live In Denmark, from 1972, is the first in The Deep Purple DVD Collection, 1968-76, and features the show plus 25 minutes of colour footage from 1973 shot at New York Hofstra University. It's accompanied by the California Jam set of 1974, which adds a bonus track, spoken-word commentaries, a picture gallery, and selected multi-camera angles. A Deluxe Edition includes custom packagaing, a repro concert ticket stub and a gig poster.

*** EMI issues a remastered CD of Deep Purples's Live In London with bonus tracks early in 2005.

Thumbs up

Great - those will mark the eleventh and twelfth Deep Purple DVD's in my collection, not counting the Steve Morse, Ian Gillan, Jon Lord, Glenn Hughes and Ian Paice solo DVD's! Man, those guys are pretty well-represented in the DVD format, I'd say...

I've had mine on order for a couple of months now, looking forward to this one, with any luck it'll arrive just after the shows in Feb

Damn - we must have the same DVD collection, WT. Now if only Rod Evans would put out a DVD...lol!

And I'm glad to see the new DVD will have at least a couple extra features. Those are what makes the DVD format so great!

By the way - not really GH or Purple oriented, but did anyone else pick up the Live Aid DVD? Talk about flashbacks...

Cheers...Todd

The California Jam DVD has now been given a release date of March 2005, not February as originally announced.....but at least it's coming at long last

I have learned to be VERY patient regarding any Deep Purple reissues of any kind....how long have we been promised a remixed, full length version of Live In London ?

Looks as if there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Sure..we have to wait..but has anyone been disappointed at the final product when it does come out? Speaking for myself, I have to say "Never!"
