Glenn joined them in 1964. They later became The Intruders. After that he joined The In Pack, followed by The News and not long after that, Finders Keepers! And all of this before Trapeze

Richard Hanysz

Mr. Hanysz posted this message 2 years ago in Coast to Coast newsletter no. 43 (march 2000)

Did he spent the next 2 years digging up this pic or what...just kidding of course...glad he posted it:

Peter Hanysz's Suggestions & Comments for GLENN:

Hi Glenn

I just found your site, very impressed!!

Hope to see you again sometime after 25 years, my son Nick (22yrs)is a big fan of yours.

I still have an old photo of the Hooker-Lees taken by Richard Webb/Cannock
in the 60s.

Best wishes
Pete

"you justified your existence as a website again..." - huhh

Anyway, yeah, Mr. Hanysz and Glenn were actually fellow school mates back in Cannock. And no, not that Stuart Smith!!

Hey,

IMHO, your existence is justified everytime I log on and see a new post from someone.....It's good to know there are other avid fans of Glenn Hughes out there......thanks for everything!!!!

I'm sure the intent was not to sound like this forum was anything less than a great place to talk about Glenn and his music but I wanted to reinforce how I felt about the website

lemme put it straight

I probably did not choose my wording right.

With "you justified your existence as a website again" I meant you prove it over and over and over again!

Would you really think I meant it in any other way??

Hi!

Funny thing as somebody mailed me the same picture
last week. It features Glenn in his
secondary school "Calving Hill" which is in
Staffordshire (Midlands).

cheers,

- Fedor

Early days...

The earliest material that has shown up so far, is from his time with Finders Keepers. Unless he ever decides to open the vaults, we might be waiting a while to hear anything from this period - it would be neat to hear that stuff, eh!

Hi!

You have anything with Glenn from the Finders Keepers? I'd love to hear that! All I have is
a copy of 'Sadie, the cleaning lady' but that
single doesn't feature Glenn.

As far as the Hooker Lees are concerned: there
were some reel-to-reel recordings made, but they have been erased later on. Too bad!

cheers,

- Fedor

Can anybody clarify?

Is this Mr. Stuart Smith with Hooker Lees the same person who recently re-issued Heaven & Earth ?

Peter

Sad news indeed.

I exchanged a few emails with Peter about 10 years ago, and in 2002 Peter eventually met with Glenn, Mel Galley and Tony Perry at a London gig.

The Hooker Lees' first ever public performance was in the living room of Peter Hanysz' sister best friend Eve, it was her 14th birthday.

It was the very beginning of lots of music to come.
