Whoo hoo!!! I was in the second row at this show. I was just down and to the left of whoever shot this. I have the whole show that this clip came from.

At the 4:56 mark, you'll see in the bottom right corner for a nano second, a flash of a white t-shirt. That is Glenn's friend and roadie Andy Atwood, who passed away a while back. As the stage turns and faces away from the camera, you can see Andy crouching down behind the cabinets ready for action RIP Andy.

Can't tell you how much I envy you, Chip, that you've seen this band live.

And? What did you think at the time of Glenn leaving Trapeze for Purple? Must have been quite a blow...

I thought Glenn should have 'toughed-it-out' with Trapeze.....I was really bummed out by his decision to join Purple....I think Trapeze would have gone on to bigger and better things.....I really thought it was 'the end' for Trapeze.....I was glad Mel soldiered on with the band.....Hot Wire was a 'valiant' attempt to recreate the sound they had with Glenn but it was never really the same without Glenn.....

Couldn't agree more. The reaction in the Black Country at the time was that Glenn had let us all down by going off to Purple and leaving Mel & Dave in the lurch. There were boycotts of Purple gigs at Wolverhampton Civic at one point, if memory serves....

Hindsight's a great thing, but if Trapeze has stayed together in '73, they might have conquered the world

Just my opinion....

Very interesting to hear that. If my memory is correct, that was exactly the point why the test concerts with the 'new' DP took place in Denmark rather than in England. Because the management was too afraid that the (very critical) British press and fans would tear the band apart.

To this day I keep wondering why Trapeze never played in my country as British bands were so popular here and there was a good market for them, especially in the seventies

that's also for me a question which never will be answered. Why didn't they play Trapeze in the radio in my country?
In the mid 70ies i somewhere heard "Medusa" on a party. I was blown away from it and began to play it in rudiments on my guitar. But i had no idea what this stuff was at that time.
For me it was logical that Glenn joined purple. "Burn" is the answer.

greets
Sigurd

Have you seen the tour in 1976, Chip? How would you compare the gigs?

No, I didn't see them in 1976. I don't think they stopped in St. Louis then.
