Icon34 BCC - LIVE in London (UK)

What a show!

From the brilliant album/gig opener Black Country to the ac/dc meets school of rock! [check out the soundtrack] Sista Jane which has one of the best sing along choruses you'll ever hear and you'll see what i mean.

I don't have the album yet but have heard it all and it was just like listening to the album tracks which proves how live the studio version was!

Prefer the live vocals tonight to the album version of The Great Divide ,as they were just a bit more restrained. More about that when i finally get the album, listen some more and consider my thoughts.

Role on the tour!

One "secret" gig review up already from someone else who was also in attendance

...the set confirmed to me that I would never see anything quite so special again in my life (although it would be nice to think more great music will emerge). What can I say that hasn’t already been said by myself, by the band and most importantly, by the fans.

OMG what an experience this was and I have to say a big thank you to my friend who happens to be in the Radio business for getting me on the Invite list.

The venue was in North London at John Henry studios, a very professional set up. The studio was very small and the show was filmed, but more of that later.

Once in,we headed for the bar for a quick beer, Joe was there looking cool in his black suit and white shirt and seemed very relaxed with Sandi Thom.

Slowly everyone started to gather in the studio I imagine it was very similar to the filming of SLITCOA, very intimate, Also, met some people from Joe’s forum who were very friendly and welcoming.

After a few minutes and an introduction to the radio show the band came on and launched into Black Country and then onto OLS then Beggerman, totally awesome so tight and powerful .

The small gathering were all totally blown away, it was a performance of gigantic proportions a real Rock Band the standard of playing was immense, I am a musio myself and I have never been so impressed, Mr Bonamassa is incredible, great tone and feel, Young Bonham throws a mean stick too. I have run out of superlatives for this band. It seems he has found a home for his fantastic talent he really drives the band.

As for Glenn, I have never heard him sing better, slightly restrained I thought, but IMO better for it, his bass playing was spot on. On observation would be that in this band he looks so much more relaxed than as a solo player, everyone is sharing the load and pushing each other to new heights ( Joes words not mine).

This is a Rock Band of huge potential and I think Derek has yet to shine but that will come, his playing is a perfect foil for Joe and Glenn and I am sure he will benefit with more time with his new mates. Great Divide was announced as a fav of the bands followed by SFY( vocals were just brilliant on this with Glenn and Joe) Stand and Sister Jane( rocks like hell) to finish ( might have missed one ).

Spoke with Joe and Glenn separately and Derek they are all so excited by this, Joe was loving watching the playback of the video that was shot even with a rough mix it sounded and looked brilliant. Also met Joel Mc Iver who is writing Glenn’s book , which was nice.

Look out for an announcement possibly next week about more gigs, this band is smoking hot. Forget DP Mk3 this is the real deal!

I am really grateful that I was at the Birth of BCC live in the UK, a truly magic Rock moment only time will tell how historic but I would be surprised if this Band does not become legends in their own right.

Now that's a tower of power (the Laney amps). It's great to see Glenn is bringing that brand back.
