Icon49 NEW Live DVD coming soon...

A brand new live performance DVD will be made available soon, to compliment the recently added Alive Drive; The Robin, Wolverhampton,UK audio and video streams.

In addition to the full 2 nights of live performances, the 'Bootleg' PAL format DVD will also include bonus material.

Alive Drive owners will be eligible for a 20% discount on the purchase price of the DVD; details to follow.

Meantime, an extended HD (high definition) edition of the recent promo clip for the now available Glenn Hughes Alive Drive, will show you an example of the video from the upcoming 'Bootleg' DVD (excuse YouTube's pixelation during the first few seconds):

Be sure and view in full screen!!

Enjoy.

What's the reason for the DVD being available only in PAL format? Will there be an NTSC version available for those of us living in the States?

Over 95% of Alive Drive owners are in PAL broadcast regions, (outside the USA), so it doesn't warrant the overhead to produce an NTSC edition. It will be viewable on your computer, as you're allowed to view any format DVD or obviously if you have a multi-format DVD player, it will play on that.

Prior DVD releases didn't exclude the States, so it seemed worth asking. The DVD would be a great surrogate concert experience for those who haven't been able to fly coast to coast to see Glenn play one or two American shows. I don't foresee too many folks in the States buying something they may - or may not - be able to watch. I myself will buy it, but I my copy will have to suffice as a bookend until I get something compatible to play it on.

Cheers...Todd

Yeah, it's not perfect but this is self released stuff, so no big budget record company involvement, ala 'Bootleg' in the title. At least we have the recent live material on the Alive Drive, with more newer live stuff to come by all accounts. Plus, if you have an Alive Drive you'll be getting a discount on the price of the DVD, which is viewable region free a few times on a computer at least!

There are some region-free players out there that are cheap as chips.

I would really like to see Blu-Ray edition of some Glenn concert. Why nobody considers this as a possibility? DVDs are so 20th century...

Well maybe that's something for the future since it was recorded in HD

Anyways I also like to mention I'm extremly happy with this release. It would be nice if the fans are treated with similar releases in the future.

No big budget ....no big risk....so much fun

When, when, when????????????

The Alive Drive is superb, one of the best souvenirs ever bought at a gig.

I was hoping the Bilston shows would be downloadable from/to the drive (as hinted) but there are only 2 clips and a host of audio tracks, that you can 'only' listen to. However, I'm excited the shows are coming to DVD!!! It took me a lot of work to convert the included Boston show to DVD (for personal use!).

Can't wait, but will - maybe a birthday present for December????

Cheers bud for the news!
