Icon34 DP UK 2009 tickets on sale this week

despite not being listed on the DP official or fan sites i got an email today saying DP playing at the LG Arena in Brum on 13th November and tickets on sale from this Friday.

http://www.lgarena.co.uk/whatson/deeppurple

i've had enough of the same old set list and solos and there is no mention of who's supporting so i wont be buying any tickets.

I agree wolfy. The announcement of a Deep Purple tour used to enthuse me and make me think that the year was going to be a better place all of a sudden. Ah I think I have said enough.....

Put Mark 3 at the end of the band' s name and I'm sure we'd get some reaction!!!

Paul,
How about if you show up at this location on November 13th,
carry a poster with the above complaint, picket the front entrance,
while wearing a lovely, fashionable, Glenn Hughes t-shirt?
Sounds like a good idea to me..........

Very good idea, Grace, but you must be by Wolfy's side carrying your very well sharpened axe!!

An unbelievable £38 per ticket plus £4.50 service charge per ticket plus £2.25 postage!

So, for £44.75 i can see DP play the same setlist as the last 5 year, Morse play the same solo spot of Well Dressed Guitar for the 8th time

OR

For £35 see Glenn play two different shows where he plays 2 different sets and keeps it fresh and exciting

Tough choice isnt it!

So much for DP saying they were going to play smaller venues to interact with the crowd better etc.

I have just been working on some clips of Caljam and cannot help but think there is no similarity between this exciting sometimes chaotic yet ultimately powerful line up and what Mark Eight serve up in the name of rock. This was rock at its most unpredictable. The likes of Metallica could never get away with setting fire to themselves!

If people who haven't seen DP in any form say in Russia enjoy themselves, there's no harm done. A bit like watching The Golden Voyage of Sinbad for the first time I guess. But I am with wolfy on the home economics front.

I prefer the Well Dressed Bass. IT DON'T LIE!

Yep, got ours for Manchester. Sitting in the circle like old men!

And Manc Apollo IS a small place, well, compared to usual MEN Arena show.
