I am going to see Johnny Winter tonight so I will do a little research of my own....Off the top of my head on 42nd St. alone you have Chevy's, Applebees, Dave And Buster's, Dallas BBQ (I think!) There are a ton of places in the vicinity where you don't have to fire off a rescue flare to get the waiter's attention...

Of course...we could always meet at Lucille's Grill depending on how deep your pockets might be

I think that between now and then we can all work up something cool

I fell asleep on this announcement. Will have to pick up a couple of tix this week.

I liked the venue last time. Not a fan of the seating, however (IMO, standing for a show is more conducive to a good time. At least seating that faces the stage is preferred, not the tables strewn about, where some have to crook their necks to the side. I stood at the bar last time and enjoyed the vantage point)

It's a little bit of a hike (W. 33rd St), but Stout isn't a bad pregame place for a bite/drinks. Big place, multiple floors, no cover.

Not sure what the rules on links are here, but if you search "Stout nyc", it's the first hit.

Hey everyone! This is great news! I've been a little distracted as of late. The wife hasn't been well. This is the best news I've heard/seen in a while.

I definitely want to meet up with you all again. This time I will not be parking in a garage that closes at midnight!

I'm going to get some tickets tonight. This should be an awesome night. A saturday no less.

That is great to hear that you will make it. And having the gig on a Saturday night makes it easier for those who will be traveling from out of town. I am spoiled this time..a short ride on the subway and I am there!

Hey Ben,

Sorry to hear that you probably won't be coming but it's not exactly right around the corner from you. It's about 80 miles from me so hell would have to freeze over for me to miss it!

The great thing is that we do have a core group of diehard fans here and in all liklihood we'll meet up again at some point. One of these days/years I'm going to fly across the pond and catch some shows. You'll have no excuse then!

Thanks for the kind wishes. We are hoping things can improve.

Maybe you should come up on the Amtrak instead of parking in the city, that would insure no locked facility

Amtrak is a thought Frank. I do like having the car with me though. There are 24 hour garages as we found out walking the streets all night!

Glenn welcomes back Jeff Kollman for both the BB King's gig in NYC as well as other dates that will be coming throughout 2009.

To be honest David, that is great news for me. I thoroughly enjoy Jeff's styling and playing ability. I think Jeff adds the rocking edge that makes Glenn even MORE incredible live.

i am also a big jeff Kollman fan, so I'm happy to see him back in the kitchen. gonna be some good things cooking in the nuclear kitchen. i hope that they're gonna make BB Kings be an all you can eat buffett, 'cause i'm commin hungry

If you come to B.B. King's hungry you better rob a gas station before you get there....the food is good but it ain't cheap!

I think we can find something that is tasty and somewhat reasonable..for NYC anyway!

I will do some more reconaissance soon...I see that Terry Reid will be playing at B.B. King's on January 30th....I KNOW Todd would love to see that show! And my brother told me that Johnny AND Edgar Winter are doing a show together here at the Westbury Music Fair...yes, it has a corporate name now but you will never hear me use it.

The Funk Fest will be here before we know it!

Yeah, the prices at BB's are a little steep. Between the two tables we had last time which consisted of about 16 people the total was over a grand. Of course I had two dozen oysters, a steak and drink Single-Malt Scotch, which adds considerably.

We can grb pizza or sandwiches beforehand and then just drink and stay as far from the food menu as possible. Between rooms, flights, etc. I really don't want to be throwing more cash out than is needed.

Bart, I owe you one big time anyway, so whereeLetIIver we eat it is on ME, and I am too ugly and mean to argue with !!!

I'm glad to see that Glenn's getting another (and hopefully more) dates in the states. I won't be able to make this one though, as I'm flying into New York on the 27th for the BB King show on the 28th. i just booked my hotel today for that one. I'm looking foward to seeing G. and the rest of my GHPG ( I guees that's GH.Com now )brothers and sisters there. as it get's closer to the date, we'll have to get more organized on how we're getting together. it sure would be nice to have some kind of backstage get together for the folks from here who are making the trip there. what about that David ? Glenn ? we'll bring all the makings for a peas and cornbread buffet.

which hotel did you book? Hopefully, Kenny and I can crash with some friends, but I'd like to stay somewhere close for the show. Don't wanna be riding the subway home that late at night. It's been too many years since I've done that.

i had to go low budget this time. but at least i'm gonna be there. i'm going to stay at the St. James Hotel on 45th street (BB Kings is on 42nd st.) i've never stayed there before, but from what i can tell, it's affordable, yet no frills. But, let me make it clear that I'd rather stay at a second rate hotel and see a first rate show than the other way around. there's a deli right next door, and i'm sure that they have plenty of peas and cornbread

Looking forward to witnessing the "Voice of Rock" at the Showcase in Foxboro. I have been there twice since the place opened (Riders on The Storm, Blue Oyster Cult). Very nice place. The food is a little pricey but a great place to see a show. The sound system is top notch and the inside is beautiful. Looking forward to an enjoyable evening

probably not a real possibility (but you never know until you try), so for right now i'm just checking it out. does anyone know the airport that you would fly into for Foxboro Ma. and a hotel close to the show? also, is anyone going to both shows and how are you getting from foxboro to new york? ( of course, this includes you too Glenn. i'd be happy to catch a ride w/ you. you can always message me to let me know

Bart, I think you can grab an Amtrak into Boston, and probably Foxboro since Gillette Stadium is there. There has to be some transport. i will take a look and if I get anything I will send you a Private Message.

This could have an impact on my plans for BB King's now. LA is an awful lot closer and probably easier than NYC, plus only one night hotel instead of two...will have to give this all some thought
