Icon34 Mel Galley Solo Dates Announced!

I'm pleased to tell you all that 2 solo show dates have just been posted on Mel's Official Myspace page

These will be on March 28th and March 29th 2008.

I know its a long way off but Mel wanted to get Christmas and January out of the way and also make sure he had plenty of rehearsal time and a great setlist ready.

Venue is The Tackeroo where his videos of Black Cloud and Cocaine were taken. Tickets are not on sale as yet but I will let you know when they are. The place only holds 250 so there will be a total of 500 available. If any of you (especially from overseas) want to contact the venue in advance to be sure of a ticket then you can contact the owner Geoff from his website http://www.tackeroo.com/

The set list will include Trapeze and Whitesnake songs plus some covers and maybe even something from Phenomena.

If these 2 shows go well then there will be more later on in the year and they may be at bigger venues if ticket demand is there.

Due to the excellent support Mel has received from DandS and everyone else on here, this is the only other site to have this news posted this far in advance. Mel (and I) thank you all

Hope to see some of you there

Its all standing ladies!

Well, actually, there are a couple of bar stools!

They also have a myspace page www.myspace.com/tackeroo

You'll see that neither site list these dates. That's because we insisted we announce it first.

Good thing, Paul.......
as I would cheerfully "slice and dice" to be able to go to these 2 shows.
I wish "Map Quest" had "driving" directions from New York to Cannock

Oh, by the way ~ Good Luck, Mel.
.......Show 'em how it's done!

Great news.

A show at the Robin would be great, or what about that theatre in Cannock that is more or less on the site of the old Forum where Trapeze used to play?

Mel has since posted the name of the drummer in his upcoming band...he won't mention any names but he plays in a band called Shigeru!!!

This gets cooler by the second!!

Smile

Lee Small tells me that as a result of sending out 2 bulletins on Myspace from Mel announcing first him and then Marcus that he got 30 friend requests and 300 plays in just 24 hours!

I have seen a sneak preview of some "limited edition" promo posters that will only be available to buy at the gigs. they look great

I have a feeling that there will be signed ones available

Yeah, Chip. i'll make sure i get you one!

i know its a long way off still but Travelodge have just released a million rooms at half price. We always take advantage of them. i was thinking that if anyone wanted to book ahead a cheap but nice, clean and safe room then now is the time to book for March.

you can get a family room (double bed plus pullout sofa) for £29 instead of £50. the only downside is these deals are non refundable if you cancel.

i would recommend the one in Rugeley as it is less than 4 miles from the Tackeroo.

go to www.travelodge.co.uk and in the find a hotel search put the post code for the tackeroo - WS12 4DU. this will bring up the ones nearby and Rugeley is top.

i just checked - they have rooms from the 27th to the 31st at £29

By the way, there is also a Premier Travel Inn in Cannock

Wink Tickets out now!

Tickets are now available direct from the Tackeroo.

Mel again insisted that his myspace fans and GHPG folk got advance notice of availability so you wont actually see them advertised elsewhere for a few days yet.

the poster attached will be available at the shows. the plan is to have 100 signed and numbered for sale. this mockup may not be the final finished version but it will be very close. still some discussion going on!

there will hopefully also be 2 different tshirt designs and possibly a baseball type shirt. still being worked on!
