Lightbulb "Pic of Month" photograph.....

Is that an actual picture of Glenn, without a microphone hiding half of his face,
and not under harsh stage lighting, and SMILING ?

Looks to me, like that "Pic" belongs on the front of a t-shirt.......

Ha, ha...Grace...I thought it might get a reaction from you

Yep, it's one of only a few we have where he's smiling and not partially hidden or as you say, a mic that's in just the wrong place, at the right time - thanks goes Ian Cameron who took it last year in Edinburgh during the Legends Of Rock tour (see the Credits page each month to see where the pictures come from and the photographer)

OK, OK, YOU CAUGHT ME IN MY EVIL PLAN to finagle a great photograph of Glenn
onto a professionally "silk-screened" t-shirt, for all of us GH Crazy People to buy......
(See previous finagling T-shirt post by me.)

Pictures of GH (or anybody else, for that matter) taken while they are singing,
usually look like they are in pain. I took photos of Glenn when I first saw him live at Birch Hill, and my favorite is when he was singing another totally different, impromptu ending for "You Keep On Moving". No guitar at that point, eyes closed to block out the annoying audience and nightclub surroundings......just a spotlight on "The Voice of Rock". Not too shabby, if I do say so myself. I believe that this picture has ended up (somehow) on a bootleg of this show. That one photograph totally sums up GH for me.

I've taken a class/lecture about digital cameras, (not that I own one) and how pictures can be "solarized". I think that that's what Todd (toadsterama) did, to one of his pictures of Glenn from the Velvet Sessions in Orlando. If I were picking out the t-shirt photo, that's the one I would choose. I'll look it up to get the number from the Memorabilia section.

Better than that would be a NEW photograph of Glenn wearing a t-shirt saying:
I love Glenn Hughes Crazy People !!!!!

Now stop laughing at me, and go print up the t-shirts!!!!!!

I just looked at the Velvet Sessions photographs again.
Sorry, but I can only narrow it down to four:

Under the heading "Show time": #41, 42, 47, 48.

What do you think?

Grace, I'm about the most ignorant photographer there is. If I did anything that looks like some sort of well-executed chemical wash or optical effect, it's purely by accident.

Unless you're really impressed, in which case it's something I've been perfecting for quite some time.

Perhaps our resident imaging scholar, the eminent Dr. James Gaden, can share some insight into the faux-tographic effects I've stumbled upon.

In any case, glad you like my photos.

Cheers...Todd

Pathetic attempt at "humble", Todd.

You did SOMETHING to I think it's #42, that makes it look like an Andy Warhol, Peter Max, psychedelic (spelling?) wash.

That's what makes the picture look extra special....plus you took some great pictures!!!!
Let's keep this t-shirt thing rolling, OK?

Grace

Grace, I'm serious as a heart attack - I did nothing! I think I see the photo you're talking about. Trust me, it's nothing more than the way the light hit Glenn, the developing at Walgreen's and David & Shirean's scanner when they posted the photo.

But I'm glad I came out with an impressive photo!

Cheers...Todd

Well, my humble followers, I took time out of my busy schedule to have a look for myself. It's a nice warm looking photo! I think Todd's right putting it down to the light (Glenn would probably have been under a yellow or orange spot for that shot), his lack of skill with a camera ( ) and different colour profiles on scanners, development equipment blah blah, but you were right too Grace. If you wanted, you can deliberately do this to a picture in Photoshop.

Hmmmm....Andy Warhol pop art Glenn wallpapers anybody?

Class dismissed.

WOW.....I started a conversation that HOPEFULLY will culminate in our having
an official, authentic GHCP t-shirt. Heh, heh, heh!

Although there IS a certain charm in making up our own one-of-a-kind bootleg tees........

Maybe Glenn could arrange something?????

I love the idea of our man wearing a tee saying 'I love Glenn Hughes Crazy People.'

You're on the ball as usual, Grace.

Thanks for the compliment, Shirl.
Gotta keep the old brain cells working at full fighting strength.
Otherwise, I won't end up in the "Troublemakers Section" of the "Home!!!!"
(Which is where I want to be.)
