Frank, I also think some time around Glenn's birthday would be a gas.

Great idea Chip and Todd - in fact, the next best step in the wonderful world of GHCPs.

One of my girlfriends showed me some awesome photos last night of her recent Vegas trip. She stayed in the 'Aladdin Hotel' for a few days (that right, Todd?), got me a Harley serviette from the Vegas store ... 'everything was SO expensive' ... ( ... a Fat Boy, or even an 883 would have thrilled me a tad more ) before taking a trip down Route 66 - got me a mug, and a sage bundle ( ). Can't quote the small 'towns' (three or four stores) she drove through, though she did say almost everywhere (apart from Vegas, of course) was deserted - and it was July - but she did stop at the place where Clark Gable and ... Mrs Gable spent their honeymoon and took some photos.
If you're talking August / September, count me in It would be something else to be with other GHCPs ... 'poolside'

How gauche, John - you were a week off. Why not just tell Glenn you loved his singing on the Machine Head album, while you're at it? LOL

Just kidding, buddy

Cheers...Todd

I've been surfing for a return flight for the GHFest in August 2006 and for an average of about 500 (think I'll be sitting on the wing ) it looks like the trip will be the highlight of next year ... apart from the Fused tour, of course.

All the CGHPs together ...

If I can camp in your back yard Chip, that would suffice I'm sure - just throw me a bottle of Southern Comfort and a few chicken wings every now and then, and I promise I'll do all the cleaning up whilst you're all nursing hangovers.

Gabi, Glenn - keep your diaries free. Chuy will babysit the family.

Shirl, you'll might want to reconsider sleeping in my backyard. I guess you could always snuggle up to a bag of ice.

I believe the attached photo might dictate when, or when we won't have this get together. It was taken July 12, this summer.

Yes Chip, but it's a DRY HEAT
Always got a kick out of people telling me that.
Some time ago, my wife was interested in attending the University of Arizona in Tuscon. Anyhow, to make a long story short, we landed at the airport in July, and it was 124 degrees, and NOT a dry 124 either
Stayed long enough to eat and get out of Dodge
Haven't been to Tuscon since, but still love Phoenix...
So Shirl, if you stay in Chip's yard, let us know and we can rest some eggs on you for breakfast, they'll fry in no time.

This whole thing sounds like fun....and I'd like to come to it and sing a few GH songs. Stuff Like Getting Tighter, Stormbringer and Coast to Coast are fun to sing....This would be fun anyway.

Looks like I SHOULD sit on the wing then!

Thanks for the info, Frank ... apart from the eggs

500 pounds to fly to Arizona??????
That's almost a thousand dollars!!!!!!!!!!
What.........does that include selling the plane to you??????
That's ridiculous; there must be some kind of discount price.
Is that price for a direct flight?
Or would it be cheaper if you flew to the US east coast,
and then took a second "domestic flight?"
I hope that between now and "whenever" you will be able
to find a cheaper flight. If I recall, Shirl, you're not rich,
but you are good-lookin'.

Hey.....somebody want to check and make sure that Glenn's
birth certificate really says August 21st? Maybe Glenn really
was born during a cooler month? Ha, ha.

Yes, I'm sure that the lovely citizens of Scottsdale, Arizona,
would love to hear a gang of GHCPs singing a medley of
their hits......OOPS, I mean Glenn's hits. Kind of like a group
of Christmas Carol-ers. We might not be any good as singers,
but I betcha' we sure would be LOUD!!!

I hope that this works out for all of us!

Yeah, Grace is right. I just went to Virgin's site, looked up flights for a random date next April, and they have flights from London Heathrow to Providence, Rhode Island for around 250 GBP. The prices vary greatly depending on which US city you fly into. Someone could then fly Southwest (or a lesser carrier of their choice ) to Phoenix. That's a long way to fly for a BBQ, though. LOL

Cheers...Todd

Well, I finally took some time to catch up on the goings on here. I gott say, this could be a great opportunity to get together with everyone. Sounds like fun! I can't promise I'll be there, but I definately want to hear more about it as it develops.

Yes, I'm learning about long-distance flights by the hour - I'm being advised by my learned traveller girlfriend ... about what Todd said
And Todd - this ain't any old BBQ ...

It will work out just fine by ... August! ... unless Glenn was actually born in January - or we could pretend? Or we could celebrate Gabi's birthday instead?

No, it wouldn't be the same - I've eggs to cook!
