Classic Rock - Mar 09 - Stormbringer
2 Attachment(s)
the new March issue (with once again Axl on the cover and more GnR crap) has a "review" of the remastered Stormbringer and also a big advert.

Glenn's two shows at The Robin2 are listed in the tour section.

Also in the rag is a great 3 page interview with Gorham and Downey about Lizzy :D and the discovery of "Still Dangerous".

There's a buyers guide to Budgie at long last

On the free cd is a track by a band i know personally - Blanco Diablo :) See them live at the Cambridge Rock Festival in August :guitarmet

And finally, just for Todd, Jeff Scott Soto is also on the cd singing "Send Her My Love" :singer:

But why not one of his own Todd?

Probably because of the Journey tie-in, Paul. And that's a shame, because the song was recorded well before Jeff was ever involved with Neal Schon in Soul SirkUS or Journey. He's had two solo albums since then, and Classic Rock just gave a rave review to his latest, 'Beautiful Mess'. You'd think they'd have included a song off that excellent album. Oh well.

By they way, folks, it's just a matter of weeks until the new JSS album is available on CD. It's been available as a download since September, but for you old-schoolers who have to have the real deal in hand, get your wallets ready!

By the way, for those who weren't aware, Jeff's 'Prism' album features a smokin' duet with Glenn Hughes - the two tear up a great rendition of Sly & the Family Stone's "I Want to Take You Higher". If you've not heard it, you can find it on YouTube. Better yet, you can order it from Jeff's store, and I'll get it out to you pronto!

Todd, at least it shows he can sing the classics and could have done the job full time no problem. Although to be fair the new guy does have a fantastic voice himself, even if it is Perry reincarnated!

Yeah, Jeff could front the band full time - and did for a full year. Arnel has a good voice, but his enunciation and phrasing leave a lot to be desired to these ears, at least when it comes to the Journey back catalog. Case in point - yesterday's Super Bowl pre-show performance.

Oh, and going back to Classic Rock it appears there will be a JSS interview in the April issue!

Oh geez I wish the Jeff singing Journey would just go away...he told me himself he doesn't want to sing any of those songs anymore...Yeah really silly they didn't put Hey or something else on that disc.

the reason for inclusion i guess is that this is from the reissue of Prism on Frontiers - out Feb 23rd.

All times are GMT -7. The time now is 10:41 PM.
