tickets on sale
Tickets have been on sale for all areas all day on the Ticket Factory website.

the Planet Rock "exclusive presale" tickets was a complete joke today. I spent half the morning trying to get tickets from there and it kept listing them then saying none available. Eventually i got 2 pairs in block 6 which werent too bad. then i found out about the other site this afternoon and got 2 more in block F which were even better.

if you go direct to the Ticket factory website it says not on sale till Friday but if you do a search and click the result you can buy seats in all areas they have left!

We don't want the rain and mud. The 2 chosen locations for 2016 a beautiful places but not high class rock locations like the better indoor venues ;)

Willem, if you don't like open air gigs, you should go to Krefeld next summer. Purple will play there at KönigPalast 23rd July. It's indoor, it's a Saturday, it's not far from the Dutch border.

In addition to the gigs in Hannover & Hamburg in about two weeks, I'll be there, too.

Ticket sale starts this Friday :bouncer:

I've seen that the Purple 2016 tour is taking shape. Thanx for the tip Yvonne

Ritchie Blackmores Rainbow in Birmingham within an hour or so: 16.000 tickets completely sold out! This means the demand for this band is huge. Unbelievable that Ritchie doesn't do a large tour, because he can make serious money with this. And let's hope he gives the fans the chace to see him
all over the world. Because Ritchie playing rock is magic

Actually they were practically sold out before the "general sale" at 10am today as they had been fully on sale on the actual venue's website since 10am Wednesday. There was no such thing as a presale and general sale as it turned out - see my previous post.

There are now people trying to re-sell them on for a fortune - £880 A TICKET for good seats in block B and over £200 for seats at the back on

With the sites fees the £880 tickets work out at over £2000 for the pair!!! These are £50 face value tickets by the way.

I have a spare pair in Block 11 if anyone is interested.

New Singer Ronnie Romero by far no Dio and even Bonnet, JLT and Dougie are much better, in my opinion :(

Maybe he's a little more like Freddie Mercury as stated by 'the man in black'... :D

The latest in-depth interview with Ritchie is in a Swedish magazine.

A litte anecdote from a couple of years ago:

According to a posting on The Rainbow Fanclan Legacy, the latest issue of Sweden Rock magazine contains a very funny report from the release party for BLACKMORE'S NIGHT's new album, "The Village Lanterne", at the restaurant Cartouche in Prague.

The Sweden Rock reporter was flown to Prague from Sweden only to see BLACKMORE'S NIGHT mainman Ritchie Blackmore (ex-DEEP PURPLE, RAINBOW) chatting away most of the night with a Polish TV team. Finally the reporter get access to Ritchie for a couple of minutes and the guitar player gives weird answers, praises ABBA and JETHRO TULL and says he wants to play rock again (but with BLACKMORE'S NIGHT). All of a sudden BLACKMORE'S NIGHT manager and mother to Ritchie's girlfriend and band partner Candice, Carole Stevens, shows up and is angry because an interview is going on after curfew. Ritchie throws a piece of paper at Mrs. Stevens and explains that he was the one to ask the Swedish reporter to stay. When the interview is over, the Swedish reporter, who is a big fan of Blackmore, asks for a couple of autographs and all is fine as long as Ritchie Blackmore signs publicity photos of BLACKMORE'S NIGHT. When the DEEP PURPLE box set "Listen, Learn, Read On" is taken out, Ritchie asks, "Who gets paid for this?" The manager runs away with the box and the reporter is reminded of the story about the guy who got his copy of "Machine Head" ripped to pieces by the mother-in-law. The reporter sets off after Stevens and asks if he can get his box back. Stevens refuses and throws the box into the hands of the Swedish record company representative and says, "This is why Sweden never will get an interview again!"

;) :D

I wonder what Ritchie's mother-in-law said when she found out that the Birmingham gig was practically sold out before the official ticket sale date? Has that ever happened with BN gigs?

chutsler Nov-08-2015 12:36 PM

Holy Moly!! I thought Yoko was a 'beeotch'... :D

JohnH Nov-08-2015 5:25 PM

Tickets purchased for both German shows this is going to be stellar!

willem Nov-08-2015 10:20 PM

The bassplayer is in fact Bob Curiano: Sir Robert, from the good period of Blackmores Night. I've seen him a few times live: good bassplayer

JohnH Nov-10-2015 6:29 PM

Bob is great - nice guy and solid bass player. Caught two shows with him back then and met him too.

wolfysmith Nov-19-2015 5:37 AM

According to Blabbermouth:

Blackmore plans to film and record the upcoming performances for future release.

chutsler Nov-19-2015 3:27 PM

Sounds like a real smart 'move'...

lioness Dec-12-2015 2:56 AM

In the latest German interview Ritchie pointed out that Candice and another female singer will join the band as background singers, but they will definitely not play any BN songs. He's made up a list of 16/17 songs so far. He's pleased to return to Loreley as this is one of his fav arenas. If the reception from the fans is positive, he might consider doing a few more rock shows.

Tickets for BN gigs are available for

3rd July 2016 Magedeburg - Festung Mark
16th July 2016 Leipzig - Parkbühne (Clara Zetkin Park)

lioness Dec-15-2015 8:57 AM

Listen to Ritchie and Candice talking about the new BN album and the rock shows on Rich Davenport's Rock Show

willem Dec-15-2015 4:21 PM

I would be really great if this thing works out and he will do some more Rainbow shows. Of course it will never be as good as the Dio and Powell times, but still nice to see Ritchie playing DP and Rainbow stuff again. Hopefully in nice indoor venues!

jerklund Dec-22-2015 10:22 AM

I wonder whether Ritchie will open the show in Birmingham with Highway Star and how much of it he will play... :) :) :) :) :)

:bouncer: :bouncer: :bouncer: :bouncer:

T :)

ps. I'm sad for JLT.

willem Dec-22-2015 2:29 PM

In my opinion JLT is a much better singer than Romero. JLT has a very own style (like it or not) and Romero is a cover-artist, trying to sing like Dio, JLT, Bonnet etc.

The April 2016 issue of Goldmine Magazine is on the market.

Coming on April 15th

Ritchie Blackmore sits down with Guitar Player for our May 2016 cover story to talk about his upcoming Rainbow gigs in Europe, where the British guitar icon will make his return to playing rock.

Obviously Ritchie is doing more press work for his old new baby Rainbow than for the latest BN album :p

In Germany a Rainbow special has been published in Good Times.

Now I really wonder what type of music you'll get to hear in June, John.
As Ritchie told the German weekly Welt am Sonntag (World on Sunday) of today, he loves German Schlager (pop music)!

I know that the Germans are irritated by that: "You don't listen to that rubbish, do you?"
"Yes", I reply, "that's exactly what I'm doing."
He even remembered all the old names from the sixties which he heard during his Hamburg time.

Ritchie also told the newspaper that he receives four German TV channels and watches the Bundesliga (prime league). The good man is more German than I am :D

And he did not forget to mention that Dio was the best Rainbow singer for him!

Here is the full interview:

German Schlager became popular again through our new superstar Helene Fischer. Here she is with the song "Breathless though the night", a song which has been copied on the net by doctors on nightshift, policemen, firemen etc.
