RONNIE JAMES DIO

Glenn recently spoke to UK newspaper, Express & Star, about his upcoming live appearance with Heaven and Hell for A Tribute to Ronnie James Dio during the High Voltage festival in London's Victoria Park on July 24th.

Glenn was asked to perform at the Memorial by Wendy Dio. He sang two songs during the service.

Coast To Coast (one of Ronnie's favourite songs by Glenn), and Catch The Rainbow, by Rainbow.

It is a very sad day today... I have lost a very dear friend.

Ronnie was a true Leader of Heavy Metal... an Icon and a Visionary... there will never be another like him.

Ronnie gave me wisdom, and showed me great compassion when he was in ELF, all those years ago, when we were on tour together in my time in Deep Purple. He was a beautiful Soul, kind, considerate and a wonderful teacher.

Someday I'll be bringing your Microphone up there with me, and we'll sing a song, and share a Vindaloo together...

I'll miss you mate.

BLACK COUNTRY IN SEPTEMBER

Black Country Communion the Anglo/American rock supergroup featuring vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple Black Sabbath, Trapeze), drummer Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater) and blues rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa, today confirmed the track listing and release date of their debut album "Black Country".

Released by Mascot Records in the UK and the rest of Europe on Monday September 20th, followed by a North American release through J&R Adventures on Tuesday September 21st, the album was produced and mixed by Kevin Shirley (Black Crowes, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin), and mastered by the legendary Bob Ludwig.

GRAMMYS' PARTY!

Last night Glenn attended a Grammys' Party at his good friend's shop, John Varvatos, on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood (Los Angeles), California.

The band Alberta Cross played. Friends such as Alice Cooper, Jeremy Piven, Cindy Crawford, Randy Gerber and fellow musicians were all in attendance! You can now view some pix from the evening's event.
